wow. 2024 was the best and simultaneously most traumatic year of my life. i almost died the week i turned nineteen, and it was the worst thing i've ever gone through. but it was also the year i made more friends than any other, went to more shows than any other. i got to see fall out boy six times including front row in vegas in a crowd of eighty thousand people. i got to see miss missing you live, a song i couldn't listen to for years due to trauma, front-fucking-row in baltimore as my 8 ball. i got to see fob in their hometown of chicago with the knowledge it was my new home too. i could honestly go on for hours about the special fob experiences i had this year. i got to meet dallon again and tell him how the happy memories he gave me + his music were literally instrumental in saving my life in april. i got to visit albuquerque after when we were young and saw so many iconic better call saul/breaking bad locations and had the time of my life. i started going to the queer coffee meetups at curitiba and found the first truly caring friend group i've had in my life. i properly experienced pride month for the first time with all these new friends - visiting culpeper for the first time for their pride fest, going to the lovely nasty gurlz' events, being gay and doing crime ofc. i played my first ever show at @madamesoddities and went to 16 others there throughout the year. i finally got a real camera and have started to get into concert photography which has been my dream since middle school, and got to be the media intern at madame's for a few months before leaving. i got to spend so much time with friends and spent so much time with my new queer community that by the time i left FXBG, i actually missed it despite having hated living there my entire life. there's so many things and people im grateful for there's no chance i can fit them all. to summarize the year with a fall out boy lyric (who's shocked): and in the end, i'd do it all again. i think you're my best friend. don't you know that the kids aren't alright. and i'm yours. when it rains it pours, stay thirsty like before. don't you know that the kids aren't alright? 💙
