Today is my birthday, yesterday was Willa’s birthday. Having a yearly opportunity to reflect on my daughter’s birth followed by my own is special and not something I take for granted. For years I thought I might never become a mother. This year I brought my daughter to meet all of her living great grandparents. I’m truly spoiled in a way I never take for granted. Even the hard moments are sweet because every day I say, “I get to do this!” And it’s true! I get to do this life with my loving family and the most precious child I absolutely adore. I haven’t ever loved my life this much and I’m grateful every day. Danke! (Thank you)

I did it! I finished all 3 sweaters in time for our holiday card! They’ll go out as new years cards, in our typical late fashion. Doing this project has really shown me I can accomplish a lot if I commit to it and focus. I started knitting the adult sweaters in the first week of October and we took this picture in early December. Whoa, that was a lot of knitting and a lot of tv time. Gina at the Garibaldina! Thanks to 🎀Whitney and Paul🎀 and their beautiful wedding! We love a reason to make a new dress and get all spiffed up. Pattern is the Mina wrap dress by @silversagapatterns (Gina in Mina at the garibaldina!) fabric is @fluidplusdrape block printed cotton. I loved sewing this fabric and the pattern was exquisite. I don’t think I posted a single complaint about the pattern to my stories 😂 so you know it’s a good one! I’m already debating which fabric to use for my next Mina, it’s that good! #sewing #gfrhandmadewardrobe #printprint @trippen.official

Willa and I had our birthdays last week, respectively. It is so mind opening to have my birthday one day apart from my baby’s. She was born the day before my birthday but I didn’t get to hold her until 24 hours after she was born, on my birthday. The nicu nurse plunked this big, fuzzy headed baby into my lap, and I thought “this is what every birthday will be like from now on!” My birthday is not only the day I was born but the day I was born as a mother. A mystic told me I would have a successful pregnancy once I believed I could love my child as much as I was loved. The second I held her, I felt this enormous sense of confidence that yes, I can love this baby and care for her. The amount of joy is immeasurable! The whole experience has shown me how much I am loved and how lucky I am. She has my same exact hands in tiny size. When we brought her home from the hospital the sweet peas were blooming and I thought they smelled just like her. 😭 ok I’m stopping now thank you for tolerating me. Happy annual get the big princess cake from @copenhagenpastry day 💚🩷
