Kneecap is not the story.

‘See it. Say it. Censored.’ is an artist-led alternative PSA presented by @kneecap32 that demands urgent action to stop the genocide unfolding in Gaza.

Created by a coalition of artists and powered by the testimony of medics and activists, the film builds on reports from Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and UN agencies, to lay out the facts and call for vital action:

Mycelium Meets #Music: The Silver Hayes Pavilion at Glastonbury 2023 🏕️

Celebrating 10 years of Silver Hayes, GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL EVENTS LIMITED 2023 introduced 6°, an artistic pavilion exploring mycelium as a biomaterial in the creative industries—from film, TV, and set design to architecture and education. Designed by Simon Carroll (temple design studio) with #TeamLove, Big Team CIC, BIOHM, and Grown bio - Growing Compostable Mycelium Packaging, the structure showcases mycelium’s potential as a sustainable alternative to plastics and foams.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀:
1️⃣ 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 & 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 – Mycelium grows on agricultural waste, creating fully compostable materials.

2️⃣ 𝗣𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 – The pavilion experiments with 2D & 3D forms, testing mycelium’s architectural potential.

3️⃣ 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 – Features music compositions by 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗱’𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘇𝗮 (Auntie Flo), Or:la, and harpist Roísín Berkeley, reflecting mycelium’s natural connectivity.

🔬 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹: Findings will be published in a report with carbon data insights, and a short film will document the journey, shaping the future of biomaterials in creative industries.

Celebrated 9 months of Larry Duffy the other week. We climbed mountains to show him big skies and the land where my dad is. I miss him. Maybe now more than ever ♥️ Have wanted but also felt reluctant to share about Larry. It’s such a big, complicated thing being pregnant and becoming a parent. Particularly becoming a mother. Feels like there’s so much missing from conversations around it. This year’s been tough for me. For lots I know. So I guess I wanted to share that. Also this thing that one of my best pals @katiemayblack gave me to hold onto during my labour, which went on for 3 days, so needed all the things to hold onto during that tbh… If it feels hard, that’s because it is hard, not because you are lacking. Sending love pals. Holding tight to this new heart beating along with us now.

Also - shout out to @thebigmoon for writing a big beautiful record about new motherhood. It helped me feel less alone. xx

As part of Glastonbury 2023 the creative team behind the @silver.hayes delivered a new artistic pavilion exhibiting the power of the roots of mushrooms known as mycelium. The aim was to explore the potential adoption of this biotechnology as an alternative material for the creative industries. Mycelium has the potential to replace traditional materials such as polystyrene, foam and plastics, and be an entirely organic and compostable alternative.

The 2023 Hayes Pavilion was supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, with support from Glastonbury Festival.

The creative learnings from the project, as well as a carbon data collection, will be published in a report soon.
The findings and recommendations on best practice will be shared with wider industry for future creatives wanting to interact with the biomaterial.

A short film will also be published documenting the journey. This video team will include training placements through Big Team. Big Team is Team Love's inner city youth outreach and engagement CIC, that creates both opportunity within their business and the wider festival industry.

They hope to take the pavilion on tour to showcase the work and findings to as many people as possible.
