Abraham Lalthakima Wins Four Gold Medals at National Powerlifting Championship

Mizoram powerlifter Abraham Lalthakima brought pride to the state after delivering an outstanding performance at the National Master Equipped & Classic Powerlifting Championship, held in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, from July 18–23.

Competing in the Master 1 Classic Powerlifting Championship (Below 93 kg) category, Abraham secured gold medals in all three lifts—Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift and was crowned the Overall Gold Medalist. He was also named the Best Lifter in the Master 1 Below 93 kg category.

His coach, Lalmuanpuia Tochhawng, an Executive Member of the Mizoram Powerlifting Association (MPA), guided him throughout the championship.

Following his impressive performance, Abraham has been selected to represent India at the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) Championship, scheduled to be held in the United States from October 14–25. He will compete as an official member of the Indian contingent.

The Mizoram Powerlifting Association congratulated Abraham on his achievement, describing it as a proud moment for the state.
