Congratulations to Anthony Bistany on being nominated this week’s Brother of the Week! Anthony is a driven, courageous, no dedicated member of our fraternity who continues to be a major asset to the brotherhood. His energy is unmatched, and he’s always keeping the house popping with his enthusiasm. He moves with confidence and determination, like a shark in a fish tank, always making his presence known and setting the tone wherever he goes. Whether he’s bringing the hype or helping create unforgettable memories, Anthony consistently elevates the experience for everyone around him. We’re proud to recognize his commitment and impact he makes on our chapter.

I’ve been listening to this documentary since HS in times where I sought to further entrench my Mind in the concept of “Flipping the Switch”. My club coach John Degl showed me this back in the day- a walk on for the Hawkeyes during the reign of the great Dan Gable. I take a lot of pride in my ability to find another Gear mentally in times of adversity- & I thank John as a key Mentor in teaching me that skill. My life would’ve been totally different without that, at a critical age of development.

If you’re struggling this szn or school year, remember this: there’s no way around it. No magic trick, no secrets. Stop trying to go over, under, around & everything between.. Start Focusing on Going Through the task ahead. How can you get better in szn? Get mentally tougher. Find ways to challenge yourself not just physically, but Mentally, each day. For me, one thing that helped over the years was keeping a Journal, & writing my goals, thoughts, dreams all in there. At this point I’ve got boxes full of Journals from 15 to now almost there. Doesn’t matter if it’s Sport, Business, Relationship, Academics, LIFE.. at some point if you really want to Win, you’ve got to be honest with yourself. Start by writing to YOURSELF “how did practice go today- ok I got better at this today. Got my butt kicked here today. Need to focus on this today”. That has also been a staple of my Confidence over the years. Bc in moments of weakness- I have something to refer to to say “hey I’m not crazy- nobody told me to write this. I wrote this on my own volition”. You could lie to others but you won’t lie to yourself. But to put yourself in the best shot to Win, you can’t go around the thing holding you back. Can go behind it, not under not over not in between. At some point you gotta face it, & Attack. That’s just one example of many.. or, you can do the same thing that got you the same result last time. Who will push you harder than you Push Yourself? 💭🏆🔨🔨🤼‍♂️ not just a Wresrling thing, it’s a Life thing. Champions don’t focus on winning, they focus on setting their Standard.
