We had to give you a preview of next week’s artist talk by Mark Thomas Gibson @darthgibson! Here he talks about his diptych of watery crossings on view at our America’s 250th exhibition, “The Crossing: Picturing the American Revolution.” There are two different outcomes: a celebratory return, and a potential shipwreck. Gibson says Washington faced exactly those odds upon his decision to undertake the Delaware River crossing 250 years ago. Hear more from Gibson and other artists featured in the exhibition on the free audio guide from @bloombergconnects! . . . Artist talk with Mark Thomas Gibson Wednesday, October 14, 1 p.m. Cost: $10 Members / $22 Non-Members Link in bio for tickets Mark Thomas Gibson (b. 1980), Returns on a Homeward Tide, 2025. Happy Small Business Saturday! Saffron Creations is quite literally me, Devin. Plus a few fab part-time helpers. It’s an honor and a privilege to be able to support my family with this lil’ biz. Your purchases make that possible. If y’all stopped buying my creations who knows what I’d be doing for work?? 🤷🏻‍♀️Let’s not find out lol! Love you all! And cheers to 17 years of Saffron Creations. 🥂 . I also want to wish a Happy Birthday to my mom, Sue (she has a few cameos in this reel), and my Aunt Sandy. My fav twinsies! 👯‍♀️💓 . Some images included in this reel are the work of two wonderful photographers @eriningraffiaphotography and @a_c.images

This post has been a long time coming, but I wanted to wait for the gaggingly beautiful photos @a_c.images shot for me. Lady, you made our place look like a townhouse restaurant, and in truth, I guess that's kind of what it was that night. Possibly one of my biggest life's accomplishments ever (not kidding) was recreating the Dorsia Menu from American Psycho. And I had the pleasure of cooking this ten-course tasting for some of my very favourite humans on earth (HBD again KRC). The best part is that I loved every minute of it - at least those I can remember. From the obscenely detailed planning spreadsheet, to sourcing weird ingredients, to retiring to the kitchen floor with a glass of bourbon at the end of the night, this made my heart happy. And these photos let me experience everything I may have missed or else forgotten. All my thanks to the team that supported me that night: my emotional support animal / 80s DJ / devilishly handsome dishwasher (@sgtclownshoes), my photographer / pastry chef / hot PoA (@apapersea), and my wildly talented wine steward / satirical comic - who, for once stayed out of the god damn kitchen! The full album of photos is linked in my bio and I URGE you to take a look. The 10 included here didn't even begin to scratch the surface of that insane night). Please, let's never cook like that again, but eat like that always. I love you all. Now feed me a cat.

Saffron is featured in ‘Belle Armoire Jewelry Magazine’! If you noticed our tin wall looks different in these photos, that’s because this feature was originally printed in 2021. Keep reading for the full story. . Four years ago, I received an email from the editor of @inherstudiomagazine, inviting me to contribute an article for their Summer 2021 issue. I was thrilled! But, I was in the process of moving from my home spare bedroom studio, to my very first dedicated creative space outside of the house. A BIG deal! I knew I couldn’t make the deadline for the Summer issue, so thankfully they switched me to Autumn. . I moved into the new studio, quickly got everything set up and invited my friend @a_c.images to take some photos. The magazine was released August of 2021 and it was super exciting. . A few weeks ago, I got an email asking to reprint my article in the new Spring issue of ‘Belle Armoire Jewelry’ for their ‘Behind The Bench’ feature. Of course I said yes. . Anyway, it’s neat to look back at this space when I first moved in. It was such a monumental time for my little biz and we’ve grown so much since then. Thanks for following along and helping to make it all possible! 💗 . #vintagetin #tin #tinjewelry #collection #collector #colorlove #patternlove #vintagepattern #recycled #upcycled #saffroncreations #madeinphilly #deco #artdeco #artnouveau #mcm #midcenturymodern #midcentury #cookietin #candytin #fleamarketstyle #fleamarketdecor #thriftstorefinds #vintagestyle #vintagelover #statementjewelry #howitsmade #beforeandafter #fromthistothat

thought i’d (re)introduce myself since it’s been a while and a lot of you are new around here! hi, i’m Bethany, a potter living in West Philly who makes weird snarky pots and planters. everything is made by my two hands (and the hands of my awesome studio assistant @megpunkybrewster) in a converted carriage house in my backyard. thanks for following along! 📸 : @a_c.images #ceramicsofinstagram #ceramics #ceramicart #functionalceramics #modernceramics #claylife #contemporaryceramics #ceramiclife #handmadeceramics #ceramicartist #clayaddict #makersgonnamake #westphilly #philadelphia #ceramicstudio #madeinphiladelphia #ceramicsculpture #pottery #solar #solarpower #solarpoweredpottery
