Happy Holidays to all! I’m starting to feel the Christmas joy and wanted to share some with you. Hope your holidays are wonderful and special ❤️

These trees have been a joy to make, and I love that I’m able to turn Douglas Fir Wood back into Douglas Fir trees. I’ll be selling these at my next craft fair or DM me for prices :) these have proven to be great present for loved ones during the holiday season.

Please like/follow and comment what Holiday items I should be making next. I’d love your ideas!

BTS #8 : MAKING THE MOUNTAIN PT. DEUX

Another facet of pulling of the mountain top sequences was researching the ACTUAL mountain aka climbing it— and finding similar locations that matched the topography of Katahdin— and of course building it from scratch thanks to Production Designer @darcy.scanlin

Months before production— cinematographer @idanmenin and I went over a 100-page shot list and figured out every piece we’d need to make the mountain top sequence work.

When you see the final product, that sequence ratchets between the real location in Maine, alternate locations in Upstate NY, and the 80x80 ft. set-build— sometimes in the span of 5 seconds of footage.

Thought we relied heavily on practical effects— the wizards at ModeFX helped sew up the seams and sell the final product. Finally— editor extraordinaire @lazydrazey stitched it all together with his non-linear sorcery — @ricschnupp designed and mixed the wild chaos — and @garthstevenson delivered a bold, haunting, and triumphant score.

Movie magic indeed.

BTS #1 - The Cinematographer is the ‘protector of the image’— I believe Socrates said that— we shot the film on @arri Alexa with @zeisscameralenses (Super Speeds) and @panavisionofficial lenses— opting for a spherical look and 2:35 aspect ratio— to enforce the idea that we were making an ‘emotional epic’. We needed scope yet intimacy.

The cinematographer @idanmenin was hired because we spoke the same cinematic language and the film needed someone intrepid enough to operate a camera neck deep in water or hike it up a mountain. Working with Idan was effortless. Not a single day felt like work. He was fast, efficient, but still took great care of the light and the look of the film. It’s masterful work and he’s no longer just a great collaborator, but also a dear friend. And he put together a crew of wonderful artists behind the lens including @a_cam7 @steadidean @2b.infocus @dylpickle442 @tsurtle @dirtthegrip @ca__ssi

Our movie LOST ON A MOUNTAIN IN MAINE drops NOVEMBER 1st in cinemas nationwide. Produced by @officialslystallone @lost_on_a_mountain_in_maine @balboa_productions @blue_fox_entertainment
