A Gluten Free Bakery just opened in Savannah!

@flourexchange is a new gluten-free micro bakery in Savannah, Georgia, founded by mother-daughter duo Chelsea and Emma. Emma is a @savannahtech Baking and Pastry Arts graduate, while Chelsea’s experience living with celiac disease helped inspire their shared goal of creating delicious baked goods everyone can enjoy.

Everything at The Flour Exchange is made with 100% gluten-free ingredients, with an emphasis on exceptional flavor, texture and artisan craftsmanship. The menu features handcrafted cookies, muffins, brownies, blondies, crumb bars, cakes, cupcakes and seasonal specialties, including favorites such as espresso brownies, brown butter chocolate chip blondies and cinnamon crumb coffee cake muffins.

How It Works

Rather than operating as a traditional walk-in storefront, The Flour Exchange primarily uses a weekly preorder box system. Each week, the bakery announces a newly curated menu featuring a selection of gluten-free baked goods. Past offerings have included gluten-free sandwich bread, seasonal pastries such as pop-tarts and mini loaves, and a variety of cookies and other sweets.

Customers can view the current menu and place orders online through The Flour Exchange’s website www.theflourexchange.com. Orders are prepared for local weekly pickup at 5002 Paulsen Street, Suite 108 in Savannah. The bakery also occasionally appears at local markets and pop-up events, including the Forsyth Farmers Market.

With its rotating menu and convenient preorder model, The Flour Exchange is creating an inclusive destination for people with celiac disease, gluten sensitivities and anyone who simply loves a great baked treat. This week we went to One For The Road to spend some time with our wonderful ladies. We enjoyed making fashionable trinkets with Lou Bangle and everyone made candles with Wildroot. After we did some shopping in the mini mart. Which is a great stop when you need to grab one more thing for dinner. Outside we were met with @frontporchimprov and laughed until we left with six packs. 🤣 Guess what I heard? ....
