Huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out for the Sooke Bike Club group ride and AGM today.

Awesome turnout!!!

The energy was buzzing all day. It was so great to see familiar faces and new ones come out to ride together. Days like this really highlight what the Sooke Bike Club is all about. Community, supporting local, and sharing the STOKE for riding 👊🏻

Thank you to everyone who showed up and continues to support the club. Also to our generous sponsors for the event prizes and the support over the years. We wouldn’t be the club we are today without the contributions and backing from you! 🩶

Big things are ahead for 2026. Stay tuned 😎

Show up for Sooke trails! 📣

The Sooke Bike Club has identified land west of the Sooke River with incredible potential for a future mountain biking and hiking trail network.

Trail networks like this have helped transform communities across BC, supporting local recreation, tourism, and jobs. We’re asking council to take the next step toward making this vision possible.

Come show your support and help SBC Director Peter Oprsal and SBC President Scott Philip demonstrate that Sooke believes in trails.

📣 Sooke Bike Club – Annual General Meeting

Come out and join us for the Sooke Bike Club AGM. This is a great chance to hear what the club has been working on, what’s coming next, and how you can help shape the future of riding in Sooke.

We are currently seeking volunteers for several board roles:
• Secretary – meeting notes, organization, and communication
• Trail Maintenance Director – help coordinate trail work and maintenance
• Grants Director – assist with funding opportunities and applications
• Events Director – help organize races, events, and club gatherings
• Chamber of Commerce Liaison – strengthen community partnerships
• Group Ride Coordinator – organize social and club rides

We’re also open to new ideas and skill sets. If you have experience in areas like:
• Project management
• Communications / social media
• Sponsorship and partnerships
• Trail building
• Event planning
• Community outreach

…there’s a place for you on the team.

Board members can expect to contribute approximately 5–10 hours per month and attend a monthly meeting (summer excluded).

If you care about trails, community, and the future of riding in Sooke, we’d love to see you there.

Date: March 29th
Group ride: 10am @HARBOURVIEW
AGM: 12:30pm @The 17 Mile Pub

We are hosting a DIG DAY at Harbourview to work on the Grouse reroute and possibly give some love to existing trails.

🗓 When: Sunday, November 2nd, 9:30am
📍 Where: Meet Scott by the bathrooms in the Sea to Sea Park (Harbourview) parking lot
⛏️ Plan: Bring your work gloves, good footwear, water, and your best trail building stoke!

Come out for some good-for-the-soul volunteer work — toss a rake, meet your fellow riders, and help make our trail take shape. A little trail karma goes a long way..

✉️ RSVP: Email Scott at scott@sookebikeclub.com if you’d like to join.
🖊 Waiver: Please make sure to sign your waiver beforehand (online or via the link in bio).

See you out there! ✌🏻

🪨 ROCK STARS NEEDED! 🍕

The Sooke Bike Club is calling all legends, trail lovers, and weekend warriors — we need YOUR muscles (and sense of humour) to help us move and pile rocks for the Grouse trail re-route!

Why? Because trails don’t build themselves — and rocks don’t walk.

🧱 Job: Lift rocks. Move rocks. Repeat.
📍 Where: Harbourview Parking Lot
🕘 When: 9:30am Saturday June 28th
🍕 Why should you come? Because there’s FREE PIZZA for every hardworking rock hauler at the end of the day, and trail karma. Loads of it.

Whether you’re strong like bull or just mildly enthusiastic, we want you there. Bring gloves, sturdy shoes, and your best rock jokes. Let’s move some granite and make some memories!
