A Void Thinking
Al's Bar 09/09/26
@a_void_thinking

I've been wanting to see these guys for a while and nothing I saw on here had prepared me. They seamlessly move back and forward between lighter sounds that have you floating out of body and heavier sounds that drag you back down bouncing off the concrete. My mic didn't do the singer justice he has crazy range. You never know what you'll see in the pits at Al's but I was definitely not expecting a pit taco. Must have been spicy, they got down!

Halfway through this thing with @municipal_bats and somehow we’re having even more fun than when we started. Thanks to everyone who came out, grabbed a tape, shared a conversation or pointed us toward a good record store. Lexington, Nashville, Memphis, Lafayette and New Orleans…you’re next.

Houston. Austin. Arlington. Wichita. Kansas City. Lincoln. Chicago. Indianapolis. A lot of miles, a lot of floor space, a lot of new friends. The second half starts now.

We grew up playing DIY shows, sleeping wherever there was room, helping bands load gear and trying to leave every space a little better than we found it. Turns out those lessons prepare you pretty well for a national tour.

Every day on this tour has reminded us why we started playing music in the first place. Good people, good shows, weird adventures and finding connection in places we’ve never been.

The goal was never world domination. The goal was to get in a van, play loud music, meet good people and come home with stories. So far, so good.

We have successfully turned gas station coffee into stage energy for eight cities straight.

We came to play shows. We stayed for the conversations after the shows.

One thing we’ve learned: every city has at least one great record store and at least one person willing to tell you exactly where it is.

Halfway through the tour and the van still likes us. That’s probably a good sign.

We have officially left a trail of ringing ears and questionable gas station decisions across Houston, Austin, Arlington, Wichita, Kansas City, Lincoln, Chicago and Indianapolis.

The best part of tour isn’t the destinations. It’s the people you meet between them.

Every flyer in this post represents a room full of people we haven’t met yet. Looking forward to changing that.

Thank you to every band, promoter, house, venue, volunteer and random stranger who has helped us get from one city to the next.

Eight cities down. Five more to go. Still smiling.

Chico keeping watch at Do It For Chico! Records HQ.

We wanted to see the country. We figured playing punk shows would be the most interesting way to do it.

Tour update: buying records remains a priority.

The older we get, the more we
