Title: Nobody’s Girl
Author: Virginia Roberts Giuffre
—-——————————————
Star: ⭐⭐⭐⭐️⭐️
———————————————
In this book, Virginia looks back on her horrific childhood up until her suicide. She details how she was abused as a child, trafficked and put into a self help programme for teens, she escaped but ended up being sex trafficked and being abused by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. At 19, she escaped that situation and made it her life’s mission to advocate for abuse survivors and bring perpetrators to justice.

Now as a 37 year old wife and mother, she reflects back on stories that have haunted her everyday of her life through the lenses of being a survivor and taking power back in her life. Her childhood and early teenage life is littered with failures by adults, trauma and moments that will change the trajectory of her life.

While reading this book, I felt profound sadness about how this young child with a love for horses, was used and abused by those closest to her. This book will stay with you for years to come.

📚💕 Shelfie Sunday 💕📚

This week’s shelf is overflowing with romance reads and a few of BookTok’s most-loved favourites. From swoon-worthy love stories and slow burns to emotional rollercoasters that had me staying up far too late, these books have definitely earned their spot on the shelf.

There’s something comforting about seeing all these well-loved stories together—each one bringing its own unforgettable characters, heart-fluttering moments, and book hangover-worthy endings. ✨

Romance readers, which BookTok favourite deserves all the hype, and which hidden gem should we read next? 👀📖💕

Title: Fever Dream
Author: Elsie Silver
————————————
Star: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
————————————
We meet bull rider Emmett, aiming for championships against his rival Theo but first he has to compete in a dating show to win money to keep his family’s home from despair. We meet Julia, Theo’s sister, who’s been brought back to Emerald Lake for work on the dating show.

Oma, Opa, Evan, Parker and the rest of the Brandt family know who Emmett really is; a softie with a big heart, despite what’s been said about him. When she starts the show, he meets Julia whom he helped to save years ago. Over the weeks, they hang out more and fall for each other; despite warnings from the show runner and the fact that he’s in a dating show. Theo and Emmett have standoff moments but they both care for Julia in different ways. It a book or will they or won’t they!

The ending was so perfect because it wasn’t perfect! I won’t give it away but it was full of thrilling moments, enemies to lovers and a small town vibe. Parker was definitely one of my favourite characters and I hope there’s more of her in this series. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Elsie Silver’s work.
