What can AI learn from Burning Man? What can Burning Man learn from AI?

People build extraordinary things together through imagination, experimentation and shared effort. How might AI expand what we can create while keeping that human spirit at the centre?

A human-written document about AI should begin with people thinking for themselves.

Start with separate ideas, then bring them together. Give disagreement room before looking for consensus. Writing down how AI should behave takes humility about what we can know, especially when we're talking about a future superintelligence.

At Playa AI, we want that process to stay participatory, with room for rough ideas, mischief and fun.

What would you put on the page before reading anyone else's version?

Most of the internet is built around persuasion: competing for attention, shaping behavior, selling something.

This clip asks a different question: what might AI learn from conversations shaped by gifting, coordination, and care?

That is not an argument for collecting more data. It is a governance question.

Who consents? Who controls access? What is retained or deleted? Who benefits?

Playa AI explores those questions before treating culture as training data.

And now for the part where our render starts being covered in sawdust.

We just wrapped our last June build day and it’s getting real. The crew finalized the screen frames and prepped the CNC-cut facade pieces that will become the exterior skin of the arch. TL;DR: our collective imagination is now officially entering the “Tetris, but make it public art” era.

Our next build day is July 11 and we’d love more hands. If you are curious and want to help, come join the crew.

We also still have $20k (1/3!!! thank you donors and grant gifters) to raise to complete the Portal build. Donations help us secure materials, finish our fabrication, power our piece and get it to Black Rock City safely. If you can give, please do. If you can build, come build. If you can share, that helps too.

The Portal of Collective Imagination is supported in part by grants from @burningman and @fivetoncrane.

Another amazing weekend at the @shulginfoundation farm, building frames for our LEDs, checking off the list, testing our solar and wrapping up at the Solarpunk Solstice event where we demonstrated an early prototype of our playa tech. Missed it? Come to our last build day in June this Saturday from 10am-3pm and come learn the technique with us! RSVP at https://luma.com/y5w3a2oe.

What a beautiful beginning!✨
This past weekend, we officially launched KAĪYA and unveiled ILÉ, a collection deeply rooted in homeland, belonging and integrity.

We couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who joined us, supported us, and believed in this vision from the very beginning. Sharing this moment with our community made it all the more special.
ILÉ is our first chapter, and this is only the beginning🤍

I’ve always believed the future of health is social, immersive, and fun.

Enter the Human+ Arena: a project I designed with the incredible team at @xrworkout. It’s a controller-free VR fitness world where you compete with your friends in a futuristic neon arena. This means you sprint, squat, and box against your friends in real-time.

We built it around the science of longevity, not just burning calories, so every race is an investment in your future health. Can’t wait for you to experience it!

Download XR Workout via @metaquest headsets. Select the Human+ Arena in the game.

My Human+ Arena is officially LIVE on @metaquest through @xrworkout. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

A controller-free, pink, futuristic world in virtual reality where you race friends in real time and train my fitness protocol inside a digital arena. 💅🏻

I’ve spent years building games, producing content, and designing fashion for avatars in virtual worlds, all with one core question in mind:

How do we use immersive tech to change our human behavior in the real world?

Human+ Arena is my answer. 💪🏻

This project has been longevity-first from day one, and the routine is built around strength + sustained cardio— the foundations of long-term health and performance. But it’s also designed to make training feel less like obligation and more like play!

Because play is sticky. Play builds habits, and when something is fun it will keep you coming back.

Welcome to Human+ Arena. Hope you love it as much as I do! Let’s train together. 💪🏻💓🤖💋🪐
