Meet Aiko, the Jury's Choice Girls Head 💋

1. 3 words to describe yourself?
sigma merciless insatiable

2. What does this year’s theme “decursu temporis” mean to you?
decursu emporis talks about the passage of time, and this theme will largely be communicated through the photoshoots (that we are all very excited for!), where each photoshoot is inspired by a specific period in history. i think the fashion of a particular era is very telling about the society that resided in that era, as well as the state of affairs that the world was concerned with at the time. for example, the theme of the very first photoshoot we’re going to do is 70s flower power, a time of fashion history that was rife with vibrant fabrics and embroidered flowers, and it stemmed from the movement passive resistance and non-violence, an opposition response to the Vietnam War. we hope to tell a story with our photoshoots.

3. Why should the freshies join jury’s choice?
freshies should join jury’s choice because it is honestly so much fun. the great thing about jury’s choice is that we really don’t take ourselves too seriously, and when i participated last year, it did not feel at all like a pageant. i made most of my closest friends in law school through jury’s, and it made my first day of school a lot less daunting and unfamiliar. whether or not you feel like you have what it takes, i strongly recommend everyone to at least audition! we’re looking for great personalities who are willing to put themselves out there and have fun! joining jury’s was the best thing i did for myself in orientation, and i hope the incoming freshies will do themselves the same favour xx
