These are a few of my favourite things ...

This is my alma mater ...a home that i carry in my self ...the roots of it's trees are merged in my veins ...their branches hold up my spirit ...the meandering paths lead me on in my journey of life ...it never ceases to be in my thoughts ...my SRFTI.

My dearest students, my friends, including the four legged ones ...i always carry them in my heart. In totality i have lived here for almost eleven precious years of my life.

I entered this place as a student and i left here as a teacher. I left in silence in the deep of the pandemic and it broke my heart that i could not say a proper goodbye to my dearest students, who were my very close friends too. They were my lifeline. But I know I owe them a proper farewell. My contract with my position as an associate professor was over so i left. I am in Chennai now, where I taught in LV Prasad Film Academy for half a year. Now I am leaving here soon. Most of my students keep asking me from time to time to return to them. I want to tell them that i too miss all of them equally if not more, but I think i want to continue my journey as a filmmaker now. Meanwhile I want to tell that all of you will always have my back. I am always just a phonecall or a text away. For anything and everything. Whatever have been our equation when we parted. I really want to say that the precious time that my students have given me will remain close to my bossom forever.

Nakhoda Mosque, Kolkata..

The Nakhoda Masjid is the principal mosque of Kolkata, India, in the Chitpur area of the Burrabazar. The foundation stone was laid on 11 September 1926. This mosque is among very few mosques in India where women are allowed to visit.

Iftar...

By Aamir Shama Rasul

India celebrated Ramzaan Eid on 14th May.

This was my first Ramzaan in Kolkata. I spent enormous time during this month of Ramzaan at Burrabazar area, Chitpur. It is also known as a commercial nucleus of Kolkata. Burrabazar is one of the largest wholesale markets of eastern India. This area is mainly Muslim populated area and migrant workers from different states of India, work and live here. For many of them, street is itself their home.

During this month of Ramzaan, I tried to celebrate some festive moments with them and bringing them to you through photo stories. In this particular photo story I tried to bring some moments of Iftari of the residents, workers, shop owners of Burrabazar.
