** HBCU WEDNESDAY (ON THURSDAY 🤷🏾‍♂️) **

In an effort to bring exposure to historically black colleges & university (HBCU’s) across the country, I wear a different sweater or shirt for my students to learn about.. 👍🏾

Today we are highlighting Alabama A&M University which was founded as the Huntsville Normal School by Dr. William Hooper Councill who was a former enslaved person. A&M located in Normal which is a neighborhood located right outside of Huntsville, Alabama

Alabama A&M offers over 60 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree options across fields like engineering, agriculture, business, and education.

The University sits on an expansive, 880-acre suburban campus that’s affectionately known as “The Hill,” serving over 6,500 students.

Home to the Bulldogs athletics teams competing in NCAA Division I, one of the oldest HBCU marching bands, and notable research and archive spaces.

Founded: 1875

Mascot: Bull Dogs
