I was talking to my friend @aandtherest about this recently, and it hit us — 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 that moms carry through all of this. 🩷⁣

+ Scheduling and attending pre-op appointments.⁣
+ Thinking of and asking the doctors all the questions related to surgery and your specific child and their needs⁣
+ Calling your insurance company to see what’s covered.⁣
+ Monitoring your child’s health in the days leading up to the surgery.⁣
+ Taking time off work and making plans for your absence.⁣
+ Preparing activities to keep your child entertained during recovery.⁣
+ Answering your child’s questions and reassuring them that they’ll be safe.⁣
+ Making sure you have all the right foods for after surgery.⁣
+ Holding it together while they go under anesthesia, staying calm so they stay calm.⁣
+ Sitting in the waiting room, praying the surgery goes well⁣
+ Being there when they wake up, offering comfort and care.⁣
+ Tracking medication times and making sure they’re getting enough fluids.⁣
+ Scheduling and attending follow-up appointments.⁣
⁣
. . . All of this while still handling your regular day-to-day tasks.⁣

So tonight, take a moment for yourself — whether it’s going to bed early, taking a long hot shower, turning on your diffuser, baking cookies, reading your favorite book, watching some trashy TV, or cozying up with a cup of hot chocolate. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁, 𝗺𝗼𝗺!!
