I'm honored to be amongst some homies and colleagues that I respect for this Artsy piece.

I love this photo taken by @aaron.babylon because it's in the library at my high school @cardinalhayes in The Bronx. Shout out to Mr. Danny Torres who was my art teacher at Hayes. He helped contextual for me the beauty and power of art almost 30 years ago.

I just wanna brag about the team I had on set this week! Every head of dept was powerful ✊🏽 af ! @imaninikyah lead DOP 🎥 with their incredible team on their bday !!, @hartbreakradio was the best photo assist alongside the best photo team @karlfergusonjr and @file.jpg ! @carlycaar was PD / art and worked hard with her own team, @mimiquiquine on lead hair and makeup… @aaron.babylon head stylist ! So amazing seeing us all grow up and become the leaders we meant to be over the years. Shout out my AD @itsalunlee 🦋🌱🤍 I love being on set with family !

This is the story of an artist caught in an identity cycle: fashion designer becomes photographer becomes designer. One moment he’s behind the camera shooting for brands such as Nike, Farfetch, and Diesel; in a flash, his own hoodies, t-shirts, and hats suddenly become the objects of interest on set.

The West Philadelphia native got his start co-creating Babylon Cartel, a creative collective and fashion label, before shifting towards photography, gaining experience working in the film industry, designing and costuming for various productions like the Academy Award-winning film “Judas and The Black Messiah.” But he never fully gave up his hypebeast roots, continuing to pursue multi-disciplinary design projects like A Universe, which he describes as, “Rooted in the exchange of resources and knowledge between the individual and the community.” The result? A line of limited products available for purchase on his site. The cycle, thankfully, continues.
