Introducing the artists of the fourth edition of our music format SONIC GROUNDS — Natasha Moreno and ora et labora.

Born in Minsk, Belarus, Natasha Moreno’s practice is shaped by the timbral richness of Belarusian folklore instruments and a fascination with rave culture. Working with Buchla synthesis, she creates a live set that moves between memory, disappearance and discovery.

ora et labora is the project of Vienna-based musician and producer Leonie Tabea Kudler. Dreamy synthesizer compositions, expressive vocals and driving live drums form intimate yet intense soundscapes.
For SONIC GROUNDS, the performances are accompanied by live visuals and expand throughout the decentralised setting of the Funkhaus.

Sunday, October 25
5.30–6.30 pm Studio Tours

Penis Envy was written about a year ago in Portugal. We recorded it on an old classical guitar that had last been used to play Bach Sonatas. The kick drum - a big rock that Markus picked up and then dropped onto sand. The vocals and its processing partly owe its sound to this glasshouse type balcony at my grandmas place by the sea. I had two fully functional ears, Markus had two fully functional feet, and Lorenz was yet to show his powers on stage with us and on the punch bag of the Portimão strip. You lose some, you win some.
Thank you for listening 💛
