It ain’t fast, but it’s consistent.

Every time that alarm goes off, my mind tries to negotiate. It wants comfort. It wants sleep. But having @aaron_paul waiting for me changes the equation.

I’m not setting world records. Just building the callus of discipline.

I’ve found that winning this first battle helps me win the mental battles the rest of the day. If I can be faithful here, I can be faithful in the other areas that matter even more.

The sunrise didn’t hurt either.

5 Miles.

That might be a warmup for some, but for me, this is the longest I have ever run.

If you would have asked me when I started this journey if I’d be hitting this distance this soon, I would have laughed. I honestly didn’t think my body (or my attention span) could handle it.

But the body adapts. The mind quiets down. And suddenly, the “impossible” becomes the warm-down.

Grateful for the health to do this and keep moving!

On February 12, 1983, we made vows and promises to each other.
Forty years ago, we pledged to have and to hold from this day forward—for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health—til death do us part.
We promised to be faithful, to love, and to honor all the days of our lives.
Wow! 40 years!
We ran down that aisle, and we have not stopped…
We were running after the Lord, and we still are.
We made a commitment to the Lord and each other—that we would live our lives differently.
In 1981, while we were teenagers, we made a commitment to the Lord and knew that we were changed, and we would also commit our growing home to the Lord. God has honored that commitment, and after 4 children and 11 grandchildren, the Lord has been gracious to us. Our children love the Lord and are serving in ministry—the legacy continues.
I love you, Mr. Eaton… Let’s keep running together til we run into the arms of the Lord and hear, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
