Film shots from Hill-Stead Museum and Connecticut, where we filmed The Artist.
Art galleries and museums have forever been sanctuaries for me, so spending each day creating inside a living museum - surrounded by so much beauty - was a dream come true.

One of my favourite behind the scenes photos from The Artist - @juanxcordero captured me looking at this Degas painting inbetween takes - the most meta moment - playing a French ballerina in 1906, Danny Huston playing Degas, looking up at a Degas painting 🖼️ 🩰

Playwright✔️ Romantic✔️ Social Liability✔️ ‘Griffin in Summer’ is now available to buy or rent at home on all VOD platforms 🛋️ 📺🍿 (while continuing our fun run IRL at @QuadCinema in NYC 🍎)!

I’m so proud to be a part of this film, which I know could never have existed when I was a kid 🌈 constantly roping my cousins, siblings and friends into bringing my latest handheld camcorder ‘masterpiece’ to life 🎥 👦🏻

There’s no shortage of BTS 📸 or stories I could share, but I hope the magic of this lightning-in-a-bottle cast, crew and community that embraced our team comes through on screen ✨ If you love the movie (or have already had a chance to discover it), please don’t be shy in shouting us out or telling a friend, indie films need the support of our “village” these days more than ever 🫶🏻🗣️

And lastly (and always)… “Harriet, it’s 9 o’clock in the morning!” 🍸💊🥃 iykyk ;)
