In a world that keeps asking us to choose one thing or the other, I’m learning I don’t have to.

I can eat healthy and enjoy dessert. Push myself and slow down. Be adventurous and be present. Be strong for my family and strong for myself. Be soft and still be strong.

We get tired trying to fit ourselves into one label, one version, one box. But we’re allowed to make room for all the things that make us who we are.

So here’s your reminder... and mine: you don’t have to choose. It’s cool to be both. 🤍

🦄 AFTER 30 YEARS, THE UNICORN TAKES HIS FINAL BOW.

🪖 From a Private (1996) to a Chief Warrant Officer 5 (2026). Three decades of service. A lifetime of gratitude.

📍 On October 10, 2026, overlooking the magnificent United States Capitol, I orchestrated my own unique Marine Corps Retirement Ceremony on The Observatory Rooftop in Washington, D.C.

I extend my deepest appreciation to Lieutenant General Andrew Niebel, Deputy Commandant for Installations and Logistics at Headquarters Marine Corps, for the distinct honor of serving as my Retiring Officer.

To my family, friends, fellow Marines, and distinguished guests, thank you for surrounding me with love, encouragement, and unwavering support. You made this celebration truly an unforgettable memory.

Following the ceremony, I hosted a black-tie, Bridgerton-themed Unicorn Retirement Gala, thoughtfully curated as an extraordinary evening of elegance, music, and dancing fit for the ton. The celebration took place against a spectacular, breathtaking view in honor of 30 years of service to our Nation.

While I wish I could have celebrated with everyone in my life, this gathering could only accommodate a limited number of guests. My thankfulness, however, extends far beyond those in attendance.

This chapter comes to a close… but the Unicorn's story is far from over. Semper Fidelis. Always Faithful.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Dr. Unicorn - "Retired Sort Of"

📸 More photographs to follow! Guests in attendance will receive a private access code to view and download the professional photo collection. Special thanks to Kadeem Walker for beautifully capturing this unforgettable occasion.
