Um sonho!!! Minha primeira tatuagem e com um significado que ultrapassa as linhas eternizadas em minha perna.

É o símbolo de uma conquista, de um esforço, de superação em um momento muito especial da minha vida, completar minha primeira maratona, aos 50 anos de idade.

E ter essa momento transformado em arte foi ainda mais incrível.

A strip of thermal paper curls out of a small camera, still warm. Aaron Jack tears it off and puts it in your hand.

Join us for an evolving photography exhibition by Aaron Jack, exploring the unexpected qualities of instant photography printed directly onto thermal paper.

Working with instant cameras and thermal printing, Aaron’s photographs carry a distinctive, ephemeral quality. The images can shift with light, age, heat and handling, making each print feel less like a fixed photographic object and more like a moment captured in a material that is constantly changing.

For this exhibition, Aaron has been working closely with contemporary dancer Kotone, documenting movement, bodies and fleeting moments through his unique process. The exhibition will open with a live dance performance by Kotone, bringing the collaboration between photography and movement into the gallery itself.

Larger prints from Aaron’s previous shoots will be exhibited alongside smaller instant photographs, which can be framed on location and purchased directly from the gallery.

The exhibition will also continue to evolve throughout the week. Aaron will keep photographing guests, visitors and new faces, gradually adding new images to the walls and turning the gallery into an ongoing photographic record of the people who pass through it.

Come see the exhibition at its opening… and return later in the week to see how it has changed.

Sometimes being weak just means being vulnerable and tapping into strength from people close to you.

Going on tour can be intense; late nights, long travel days, and intimate quarters can trigger all kinds of ✨feelings✨ which is why it’s so important to have trust with the people you work with.

Touring with the band Ukelele Death Squad around Germany, artist and photographer Aaron Jack caught this moment on stage, showing how sharing weakness can ultimately give us the strength to keep going.

Multiple instant cameras. Two dancers. Movement captured, printed, and transformed into physical images as the performance unfolds.

Photographer Aaron Jack works with dancers Haruka and Kotone for his upcoming exhibition titled Thermal Memories, creating a live photographic performance where movement becomes image in real time.

Artist and photographer Aaron Jack took this image whilst travelling with #UkuleleDeathSquad on a tour through Germany, documenting the band along the way and capturing their irrepressible joie de vivre 🙌

Tonight, Ukulele Death Squad brings that same wild energy back to Berlin, playing at Kreuzberg’s #Privatclub on Skalitzer Str. 85-86.

The award-winning folk & roots band hails from Adelaide, Australia, and is otherwise known as “the most dangerous ukulele band in the world.”

Originally from Pittsburgh and based in Berlin, Jack’s work is characterised by photographs that feel intimate, playful, and alive.

The print is on view at Anker Kabinett, in front of iconic Ankerklause on Kottbusser Damm 104 and available for purchase as a limited edition 👀
