Sundays are for love and time with those who matter most ♥️

Aaron Johnson’s limited edition print “Oh My Heart” beautifully captures that exchange, where hearts speak in color, connection, and cosmic synchronicity.

TAP to add @aaronjohnsonart’s inspirational fine art to your collection.

Where does the body end, and the cosmos begin?

In Aaron Johnson’s Walking My Dog at the Arroyo, two figures emerge through veils of fluid color: part companions, part apparitions, suspended between an everyday encounter and an otherworldly dream.

Swipe through to explore the painting up close, then experience it in person as part of FLOATING, Johnson’s solo exhibition at Volery Gallery.

Now extended through October 10, 2026.

Volery Gallery, DIFC, Dubai

Which detail pulls you in first—the gaze, the circles of light, or the meeting of the two figures?

Save this post for your visit and share it with someone you would bring.

Before heading off for the summer, we’re looking back at some highlights from Bowman Hal’s first year.

From @william_mackinnon, @aaronjohnsonart , @sirocugusi and @paulmccarthyyy , each artist and exhibition brought new energy to the gallery.

Thank you for the warmth and support you’ve shown us from day one, and for being part of this first chapter.

We’re taking a short summer break to prepare for the new season. See you in September!

Floating .. ☁️

Yesterday I finally made it to Floating, Aaron Johnson’s solo exhibition at Volery Gallery.

I found myself slowing down, noticing details that only emerged the longer I looked .. layers of colour, imagined figures .. moments suspended somewhere between dreams and memory.

Congratulations, Aaron, on such a beautiful exhibition. It was really a joy to experience your work in Dubai. 🤍

Ensuring that Newtown Lane meets its girl power quota this summer. 🎆

Made a painting about moving between prescribed feminine personas and then dressed/posed very literally in that spirit. ✌️

36 Paintings runs through August 5th @harpersbooks in East Hampton. Swipe to see only a handful of the great work featured in it - very thankful to exhibit with this group 🙏

While doomscrolling through my screenshots folder on a post-Basel Father’s Day, I’ve realized it’s a good moment for a new edition of #virtualstudiocreep’s legitimate child, #papercreep. With these posts, I’m sharing snaps of different sketches, drawings, and/or works on paper that I screengrabbed from my feed and beyond.
•
These posts take longer to put together, so I’m gonna start w this lovely peek at @adampaints Berlin lair while he was wrapping up things for his recent solo debut w @galeriejudin. Next up is a nice video of works on paper scattered around @dwiantonoroby’s studio floor, as well as a selection of drawings and drawings on canvas (as a starting stage of his painting process), by @laurens.legiers.
•
Drawings are a massive part of @nik_christensen’s practice, as they are for @joline_kwakkenbos, with papers scattered around and sketchbooks resting on the floor. Speaking of which, @waynehorse never leaves home without his sketchbook, and sometimes their contents end up in his zines. Well, next week he is promoting his new book in Paris, which comprises 10 years of his zine activity featuring drawings, photos, thoughts, realizations, and punchlines.
•
On July 7th, @bbest_ffriend will be presenting a show w @villanavarra.lemuy in the south of France (for which I had the honor to write the text), and here are some early drawings that led to this great body of work. I also wrote the text for the recent @szabolcs_bozo show w @semiosegalerie, and here is a shot of one of the preparation works on paper ahead of the show. And speaking of shows, @pacopomet is currently having a solo w @aishomiura in Tokyo, and here is a view of his studio desk.
•
It’s always a treat to see @beeyonkerz’s pastels, and I enjoyed spotting these drawings by @crabgal in her feature at @elephantmagazine and this cheeky studio shot by @thevillagedisco recently. Finally, here is a simple but rarely seen line guide by @aaronjohnsonart ahead of his current show w @volerygallery, a crisp line exercise by @zioziegler, and part of @rhysjohnkaye’s Tokyo blackbook diaries.
