The Time Variance Authority definitely has files on Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson. Let’s trace their timeline, from DIY indie horror and sci-fi cult hits to fan-favorites from the MCU.

Their time as filmmaking partners began with their debut feature Resolution, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2012.

Soon after, their horror romance film Spring screened at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.

Moorhead and Benson directed The Endless, which opened at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017 and received a theatrical release in 2018.

Synchronic, starring Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan, had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2019, hit theaters in 2020, and released on Netflix in 2021.

Amid the restrictions of the pandemic, Moorhead and Benson shot a horror film within Benson’s apartment. Something in the Dirt premiered at Sundance in 2022.

The duo’s step into the Marvel Cinematic Universe began with episodes of Marvel’s 2022 Disney+ series Moon Knight, starring Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke.

Shortly after that, they were recruited to be the lead directors on the second season of Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson.

The directing partners aided in reworking and directing season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again (2025) and would return as lead directors for season 2.

Moorhead and Benson directed their first commercial for Borderlands in 2025. The highly-crafted project continues to garner awards, most recently shortlisted 3 times for the Clio Awards.

On the heels of Borderlands, the NBA tapped the duo for their Emirates Cup promo featuring Anthony Edwards, Alperen Şengün, Karl-Anthony Towns, Trae Young, Blake Griffin and Taylor Rooks.

Where does the timeline go from here for Aaron and Justin? You tell us!!
