POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We believe in talking to each other about everything, from the joys and fears to the sadness and the wins.

Communication isn’t just about talking.

It also happens in the way you make time for each other, whether that’s during a walk, making each other coffee in the morning, a smile, a laugh, or the hug that you don’t want to end.

What’s the little thing your partner does that says more than words ever could?

Thanks to a sweet friend for sharing this fun event with us!

Once a year, the Eastmoreland Neighborhood Association puts on the largest neighborhood garage sale in June.
(Apparently, we have lived under a rock as this was our first time ever going.)

There are no early-bird shoppers allowed. So the interactive Google map goes live at 8 am the morning of, along with a printable PDF map. The sale runs from 9AM to 2PM.

We came home with an old vintage Wilson racket for $1 and a $15 silk tie. We went more for the experience than the hunt (although it’s always fun to find little treasures). And yet, we met some really cool people.

We had the nicest conversation and were invited inside to see a homeowner’s large-format architectural photography. Which was just stunning!

Got free ice cream thanks to @yourcommunityrealtorpdx and @cascade_sir.

And ran into some of our friends.

If you’re interested in donating to Duniway Elementary’s restoration project and children’s community garden, please contact @duniwaypta or The Duniway Foundation.

Thanks to the Eastmoreland Neighborhood families! We’ll be back next year.

Episode 2: Bringing back fun

This week we explored the Oregon coast, yet again, and found a few more gems along the way.

When visiting Tillamook, you must stop at @garcias_cocina for the most delicious Mexican food. (Sorry for the miss pronunciation in the video 😉)

Thank you Maria and family, our lunch was muy qué rico!!

Consistent, daily commitments that pay us now.

A strong marriage is not two people who never face a storm.
It is two people who have decided the boat is never allowed to sink.

Most couples are incredibly intentional about their careers, their finances, even their home. But their health? They optimize it separately — in parallel, never quite together. Two people in the same house running completely different operating systems and wondering why it feels disconnected.

That is the gap nobody is talking about.
Have you felt it?

It is exactly what Aaron and I decided to close.

After 20+ years of marriage and nearly two decades of building our health individually, we made one decision that changed everything: We stopped optimizing as two people and started designing as a unit.

That is the category we are building at Sync & Thrive.

Not fitness.
Not couples therapy.

Health alignment as a deliberate life design decision for couples who are ready to stop moving in parallel and start moving as one.

👋🏽 I'm Jaylene, co-founder of @syncyourwellness with my husband Aaron.

P.S. If you and your partner are done optimizing separately and ready to design your health as a unit, comment "THRIVE" and I'll send you our newsletter.

Aaron had been trying to get me interested in what he was learning from his podcasts for years, but I was not ready. Then the pandemic hit, and we were going stir crazy. We started watching YouTube together when something finally clicked.

One channel led to many micro-farming videos. His parents had land, and we thought, why not. So we went all in and built a 50-foot greenhouse, plowed a field, laid irrigation, planted almost everything from seeds, and learned more about working together than any conversation ever taught us.

We were exhausted by the time we could actually sell anything, and when work started calling us back, it gave us the perfect out, but we never walked away from what the farm gave us.

Fuel is one of our four pillars, and it is not only about nutrition. It is about the ideas you let in as a couple, what those ideas make you want to build, and whether you are consuming separately or on the same path of discovery together.

A YouTube video changed our direction. What are you and your partner consuming together that leads to your shared growth right now?

Did you and your partner ever go all in on a shared idea together? Aaron, co-founder of Sync Your Wellness ingesting business podcasts like My First Million, self-improvement books from Tim Ferris, and finance by Charlie Munger.

Italy gave us the idea. Our neighborhood became the practice. @aaronpatelzick and I walk to dinner once a week and it has become one of our favorite rituals.

Your partner’s obesity risk is your obesity risk, their depression risk is yours, and their recovery is yours too. This is biology and a shared environment working in both directions. The only question is whether you design it together or inherit it by default.

The Sync Quiz™ was built around the four pillars that have had the biggest impact on our own marriage: Movement, Connection, Fuel, and Resilience. It takes three minutes and shows you exactly where you and your partner are strong and where you are out of sync.

This is where you start. 👇

We have been happy in our marriage, but we were not taking care of ourselves the way we deserved. We had different ideas, different fears, and very different timelines. What finally got us moving in the same direction was not a program. It was a decision, made together, to stop waiting for the perfect moment.

We are still on this journey together. If you are too, welcome. You are in the right place.

Most couples are already running on shared habits yet do not know where they are actually out of sync on their health until someone asks the right questions. If you are ready to stop waiting and start designing your health together, that is exactly why we created the Sync Quiz™.

It takes three minutes and it shows you exactly where to start. Link in bio.

Aaron and I have done our annual doctor visits and lab follow-ups together for years. It keeps us honest, keeps us on the same page, and means that when something shows up in the numbers, we are already there to figure it out as a team.

Is this something you and your partner do? Would it be something you would consider doing? 👇

Yesterday, we added something new to our weekly date nights. A cheat day that still got our steps in.

Instead of driving, we walked. We have a local outdoor mall about two miles from the house, so we made it our destination. We skipped the direct route and took a detour through a park and a neighborhood of cherry trees just starting to bloom. It added more steps and more time together.

That’s what our Walk and Talks are about. We work together, so most of our shared time during the week fills up with logistics (what’s next, what needs to happen, what we’re building). The walk strips all of that away; our heads clear, the conversation slows down, and we get to just be with each other for a little while.

It has quietly become one of our favorite parts of the week.

Seriously, though, if you haven’t done this with your partner yet, try it. It’s one of those small things that gives back more than you expect.
