✨ Class description ✨

This workshop focuses on the fundamentals of observing and simplifying what you see. Working from life, we’ll explore how to create strong compositions by identifying focal points, organizing foreground, middle ground, and background, and using light and shadow to create depth and atmosphere. Through demonstrations and guided practice, you’ll develop practical tools to quickly sketch compelling scenes in any environment!

Here’s this years Night Drawer Lakefair button! What a great turnout, and thanks to @lowtidearrts for making the giant pencil! This picture was taken while the fireworks were still going off above the lake. It was @sumopoptart’s idea to get a color button, but so of these people in the photo meet up on Sundays at @le.voyeur.olympia to make a zine every week!

We have a sad announcement to make today.

After 2 years of serving our wonderful Downtown Olympia community we’re officially closing our doors July 8th.

It’s been such an honor to showcase local Artist, hold events for our community and just be apart of everyone’s daily lives. ❤️

We wanna make our last month a fun one so for the rest of the month we will be holding raffles for our remaining Merch, Smash ultimate challenges Tuesday-Wednesday, Viewings of the World Cup games and more!

Stay tuned for more info on our Raffle and all of our upcoming events. We’re really gonna miss you Olympia thank you again for letting us be apart of our community!❤️

INTRODUCING THE LONG ROAD SOCIETY FAN CLUB!! 🪭 These arrived today and I just couldn’t wait a minute longer to show them off 💅 This idea started with @z.e.r.o.c.h.a.r.i.s.m.a as a little ember on a hot day, while we were fanning ourselves in the shade, probably cursing the heat & talking about the how our fans weren’t big enough 😅 Inspiration quickly struck - do we start a fan club?! Where you get an actual fan?! It’s the first “merch” idea that I’ve been excited about in a long time and features some classic long road society iconography - past, present, and future (don’t recognize some?? stay tuned to the channel 😏) These were pulled from album covers, posters, buttons, t-shirts, & liner notes and represent the ever-expanding web of talented musical & visual artists that we’re so lucky to be surrounded by.

It was 1941 when this severe visage exhorted the Soviet people to keep their secrets from the invading Germans. Berkeley’s proud progressivism similarly obscures a modern day secret. They have really good pizza. The supremely talented Aaron Zonka renders us this light hearted tribute to Berkeley. (shhh)
