There aren’t very many things that are as important to me as South volleyball. For 5 years, I’ve been a part of this family, both as a player and as a coach.

To be honest, I don’t really know what to write because I still can’t believe it’s over. This program has given me countless memories and teammates that became my sisters.

Being a feeder coach has been such a rewarding experience. There aren’t many things better than seeing your players experience the joy of volleyball for the first time, especially when you’re experiencing it alongside your best friends/ co-coaches. It’s such a full-circle moment to see players in the same shoes I was in 4 years ago. I hope my players learned as much from me as I did from them, and that they had fun over these last two seasons.

To @alanabricely @aavaericksonn @shriya.karthik @aria_singh0501 @celiahillvolleyball @kendraleboehi @maddie.stamperr05 @briannanovo_ + all the other South alumni it wouldn’t let me tag, I’ve looked up to y’all for years, and I want to thank you for the impact you made on my life and on the volleyball court. I wouldn’t be the player I am today without y’all, so thank you for being that role model for younger me. 🫶🏼

This season, I was nervous returning because I didn’t know what the future would look like. But throughout all of the trials and tribulations, this team pushed forward like no other that I’ve been on. The fight and joy that this team showed amazed me. Getting opportunities like playing in a state match and making region were dreams come true for me, and I want to thank all of my teammates, coaches, and managers (can’t forget eric and humd) for making it possible. It honestly makes me cry thinking about how far our program has come in the last year, going from a one-win season to making state. I’m so incredibly thankful to my teammates for trusting me to be one of your captains, and I hope that I lived up to your expectations, and the South Standard.

To all younger players at South, I have a few words of advice. Always leave the program better than you found it, and always be a goldfish :)

Love y’all,
#4 out!
