In 2007, I published my first book, ‘Rocket 2032’, at 14 years old. @barnesandnoble in Fairfield put up a promotional placard in their store, and it was altogether a fun little local press run (and ego trip) for a young artisté. During our trip back, we visited that same spot 15 years later. Swipe ⬅️ to 👀 that full-size babby Jonathan.

Can’t believe it’s already been as long as it has been. I’m happy to finally be writing new fiction work that I hope to get out into the world by early next year. I would not have gotten on this path had it not been for my hometown crew—my family, of course, but also the faculty at FSUSD’s Independent Study (especially Mrs. Paxton for encouraging me to publish this short story) and my buddy @ab_muv, Rocket 2032’s co-star who went on this time-traveling journey with me!

No visit to Fairfield would be complete without seeing this guy. @ab_muv is another hometown brother that I’ve known since the early days—around second grade. He and his family have been rocks for me since, and it was so good to see them and catch up. I’m proud of this man; he’s an inspiration. See you again soon, bro!

Happy birthday, @ab_muv! I’ll meet you at 28 in a week… and see you in person for the first time in a decade in two! Always have been proud of the person you are and are becoming, and lucky to call you my friend.

(The reason why I used this picture where I forced Abram to pose with my gnome is because I‘m pretty sure this is one of the last pics I took of him in the flesh.* We’ll remedy that soon.)

*Also because I feel nostalgic for the era of forcing my friends to pose with my gnome.
