Life lately: April 13-19

1 & 2. We celebrated my Nana’s birthday with her, in person, for the first time EVER while we were in Houma, LA! That was really special!

3. The boys had their first ever Easter egg hunt with family 🥲

4. Just swimming with some alligators chillin’ in the background

5-7. Aunt Laverne took us on a trip to an Alligator farm 🐊

8. Leaving Louisiana and on our way to Houston

9. Grandma Mamí and Grandpa Papí reunited with their grand babies

10. Glass of white wine & pear flatbread that was giving me LIFE

What an incredible experience!
The intricacies of this design and building are really mind blowing!🤯

#gaudí was the designer and interestingly enough, he’s buried inside the cathedral!😳

💫Just fascinating!
It’s such a different way of life in Europe as well. The place was PACKED. So many people from all over the world in one location. It was quite the experience for sure!✨

As humans, we were NOT created colorblind. We were created to see color. We were created as people of varying colors and there is BEAUTY in our shades of melanin. ⁣⁣

I take pride in the shades of my family, I celebrate our individuality - and I want others to recognize, appreciate, and celebrate it too. As I look at my dad, my mom, my brothers, my sisters, my grandparent, my cousins...I feel an overwhelming amount of love and pride to be raised with this much variation infused into the tones of our skin. ⁣⁣

When you say you are colorblind, you are minimizing the struggles that POC have had to face, you’re actively saying that you’re choosing to not recognize your own prejudices, and you’re saying that an integral part of WHO a person is...just doesn’t matter. Because YOU “don’t see it”.⁣⁣
