There’s a lot of reason for Erin, Adrian, Kaely, and Noah to worry in the pages of Fatal Finale by @nancylmehl . But I love this reminder to wait on the Lord when things aren’t going our way, or when it seems like the evil in this world is winning.

Loving buddy reading this with @alwaysbythebooks and @abakersperspective 💚

“Some beautiful things arent for grasping. You enjoy them for as long as they last, then you let them go. God’s always making things anew. New ways in the wilderness, the Scripture says.”

I enjoyed this story so much! @christinehillsuntz takes us on another adventure into Canadian History, and I learned so much while being completely swept away by this tale of love overcoming class difference, presumed betrayal, and loss. I loved how everything came together in the story.

I loved Charlotte. I totally empathized with her and I saw some of my characteristics in her. And I felt for Joshua too. I loved how he just wants to do what’s right. Their characters felt so real to me. They were both so willing to sacrifice for others, even when it’s not well-received. They both handle hard things with such strength and humanity. There are some delightful side characters, and some that are definitely not! It was also so funny- it took me forever to recognize the cameos in this book from The Lawyer and the Laundress! Once I did it was such an “ah ha!”rewarding moment. You certainly do not need to have read The Lawyer and the Laundress first, but if you do, there are some lovely easter eggs.

There are some great lessons in this book, especially in both forgiveness and in focusing on what truly matters. The faith is present and natural. Kisses only (and what a first kiss- wow!!) and the sweetest ending.

I had a great time buddy reading this book with @abakersperspective - I love that it caused me to slow down and savor the story, and allowed me to take a deeper look.

I received a complementary copy of this book from @tyndalehouse & @crazy4fiction @netgalley ❤️

☀️Saturday Summer Sips Stack!☀️

Thanks @robertson.reads for the tag! Even though it’s been 90+ degrees and extremely humid here in SC, there’s nothing like a hot cup of coffee in my opinion. Drinking it with the AC on full blast, of course. 🤪

Meanwhile, Daisy is enjoying lots of reading time on the couch (and apparently, nap time on the coffee table).

❓What are you reading this weekend?
