Excited to share @brycewashington74 has two debut art exhibits coming up! His first exhibit is on August 8 at the Joyce Gordon Gallery, where he'll be showcasing a "centric" four piece series. Then, on September 11th, he'll have his first solo exhibition featuring 12 original works at @pier_23_cafe in San Francisco. Hope you can come out to support and enjoy the work of young artists at one or BOTH events. Feel free to spread the word!

19 year old, Oakland native Ayo Brame proved exactly why he is one of the most compelling young voices in jazz. Under the musical direction of Bay Area heavyweight Kev Choice, Ayo channeled the soulful, spiritual depths of John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins while his powerhouse quartet injected contemporary vibrancy with deep R&B grooves and hip hop connections.

Ayo Brame – Sax;
Kev Choice – Piano;
Dana Roth – Bass;
John Omayga Adams – Drums

What an incredible experience in Lisboa (Lisbon), Portugal. I feel in love with the culture, architecture, food, people, learned a but about the history, and also understand why it’s become one of the top countries African-Americans move to from the US. From performing 2 sold out shows with @nisaslounge to performing at Lisbons Juneteenth celebration with @blackinlisboa to connecting with old friends, meeting new friends, traveling to a castle in Sintra, I was deeply inspired by the whole experience. I look forward ti returning seeing more, learning more, and sharing more with this amazing community. Feeling grateful to @ayobrame @abayomibrame @scb_brame for having me along wit this incredible trip.

DOZENS of kids, including my daughter and her friends, got to see their very first live jazz show at @yoshis_oak over the weekend.

It was exciting enough to dress up for a concert at Yoshi’s, but seeing someone not much older than them on stage made their Shirley Temples that much sweeter. The cherry on top was a chance to chat with Ayo after the show about his musical journey.

Big THANK YOU to @100blackmenofthebayarea for your incessant dedication to cultivating greatness in young people, and for creating experiences that inspire with examples that look like them.

Have an amazing dance around the sun, Ayo! Blessings to you and your family for sharing your special day with us.

What they see is what they’ll be.

Was thrilled to be able to bring a few friends to @yoshis_oak Saturday night to celebrate Ayo Brame’s 19th birthday at one of four sold out shows. I went to check out then 16 year old Ayo at the 2023 San Jose Jazz Festival after seeing a local story about the young Oakland tenor saxophone phenom on the local news. Playing with his high school jazz band, his talent, tone and stage presence were on full display, even at that early age. His dad Yomi asked me to stay and watch him perform with some more seasoned musicians, including his mentor, the uber talented producer and pianist @kevchoice After hearing him in that setting, I decided to present him and Daniel Harris III at our very first Future Is Now Concert in Monterey. I wanted the audience to imagine being in a small NY nightclub in the early 1950’s and watching a young Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Three years later this young man has found his voice, his tone, represents his hometown of Oakland, California all over the world, has met and played with one of his heroes, our friend @kamasiwashington , is currently attending “The New School” in New York City, can be heard playing on the song Pressha, on Jill Scott’s latest album, To Whom This May Concern, and tonight, opened his set with John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme. A full circle moment indeed! Congrats Ayo. Keep shining. Happy Birthday. The Future Is Now!✊🏾 #ayobrame #oakland #justjazztv #justjazzfoundation #thefutureisnow

It’s not often that I have the opportunity to join Ayo and Yomi on the road, or for marketing stops like this. Was super awesome being able to experience this first hand. I found myself tearing up a lot as I watched my son with so much pride as he lives his life following his dreams and passion. What a blessing to be able lay the foundation along with my partner in life @abayomibrame for him to have these opportunities. So incredibly proud of you @ayo.brame.music. Also, only one show has tickets left @Yoshis this Friday! Don’t miss an opportunity to be serenaded by the Ayo Brame Experience!!!!!!
