Congratulations to Abbie Bowers and Gigi Nordine for completing American Ballet Theatre's National Training Curriculum Intensive!! 🎉

They spent 9 days at the ABT Studios in New York City being fully immersed in ballet teacher training for Pre-Primary through Level 3 led by Harriet Clark and Susan Brooker!

Ms. Morgan also joined them at ABT through auditing the course! She and Ms. Whitney are both certified ABT NTC teachers in Pre-Primary through Level 5, and have been bringing this ballet training to our students for years!

We are so excited to continue bringing this comprehensive ballet training curriculum to our students!

Miss Gigi will be continuing to teach our academy students, and Miss Abbie will be joining us this year as substitute ballet instructor while pursuing her professional ballet career! 🤍

In just less than two weeks, the story of Giselle comes to life presented by our dancers at Movement on Main!! ✨🩵🩰

The Story of Giselle:
Long ago, in a village where dancing is as natural as breathing, lives a beautiful girl named Giselle, who is adored by everyone. Giselle is a joyful girl with a heart that is as loving as it is weak, living under the careful watch of her mother and her potential suitor, Hilarion. One day, a charming stranger named Albrecht sweeps Giselle into a forbidden romance that feels like something out of a dream. Giselle’s mother warns Giselle of the dangers of dancing in her fragile state, but as the harvest celebrations begin, she can’t help but join in. The Royal Court attends the grand celebration, but the dream is not what it seems. Hilarion reveals Albrecht is a nobleman already promised to Bathilde, a noblewoman. When his secret is revealed, Giselle’s fragile heart cannot bear the truth, leading her to descend into madness.

Her story, however, does not end here.

In a moonlit forest, the Wilis—ghostly spirits of maidens betrayed before their wedding day—rise beneath the moon, bound to dance without rest and to lure others into their fate. Giselle joins them, yet her spirit remains touched by the love she once knew. When Albrecht enters their realm, doomed to dance until dawn, Giselle intervenes. With quiet strength and enduring tenderness, she dances to protect him, choosing true love and forgiveness over vengeance. As morning breaks and the Wilis vanish, Giselle frees Albrecht, allowing her own spirit to be at peace.
