Back in the studio working on this 6 ft tall piece and starting to prep some more canvases. Planning on working this scale and LARGER for the foreseeable future.
Less being practical, shrinking myself or bending to the market, and more of making the work that lights me the fuck up in 2023. ✨✨

Venus in Capricorn
December 9 - January 2

A peony reminds us what patience is.
what grace is,
and what beauty is.

We show up expecting so much from life.
from friends,
from family.

But a peony.
A peony owes nothing to anyone.

It is only here to champion the beautiful,
tragic and powerfully poetic fragility of life.

The peony asks us to lean into the knowing
that everything is temporary,
that death is upon the heroic tasks of being alive.

The peony asks us,
in turn,
to live fully.

To live with joy.
To be an exuberant expression of existence.

Who are we to know when our time has come?

Who are we to know what forces orchestrate our lives?

Who are we to be anything but grateful devotees,
navigating the mysteries of a
Universe unfolding

As flinging
and as delicate
of each unfolding
Peony flower.

🌸

Full Moon in Gemini conjunct Mars Retrograde 🌕

The sky is orchestrating a dance right now.
Asking you to step in,
and then step back, and then,
maybe step back in.

This Mars Retrograde has been playing tango with us for months now.
Just when you think you are in the clear,
another note sends you backwards yet again.

Mars in Gemini is like a hurricane moving a feather,
and you, my friend, are the feather.

Literally the only way through
is complete surrender.

Can you let what is being arranged in your life come to you?

Sure when blessings and manifestations fall upon us it can be easy to take them in.
But Mars retrograde with the Full Moon is asking you to take it all in.
And can you do it without victimizing yourself?
Can you let the wind move you and flirt back with your own moves?

2022 ends with Mars in Retrograde joined by Mercury in Retrograde all before Pluto makes its big move in Aquarius…

What does that mean?

The sky isn’t letting down.
The music is still playing.
Hop in on the dance where you can.
Rest when you are tired.
Heal when you are sick.
And then get back in on the dance floor.

The skies are pouring down challenges upon challenges.
Asking you to move and grow.
And then move again.

✨✨✨

Happy Samhain.

in between
light
and darkness

is the magic where
life
and death
flirt with each other

the veil is thin
but just there enough

as a culture,
we get used to our boundaries

we wear them like badges of pride
posturing ourselves in skin and bones
beliefs and politics
occupations and ideals.

but tonight,
this week,
this eclipsed moon..

it’s begging of you to soften
to stretch your identity
beyond your skin
your home
your town
your planet
your solar system.

Your ancestors are holding all these connecting spaces for you.
Offering marigolds across the bridges
of time.

From the dusk after sunset,
lit under a bright Jupiter..
Join them in rejoicing.
We are never apart
anymore than we were ever just our bodies.

Set you skeleton free
and watch it return to you in the morning,
ready to give you the protection you need
in a new, holy world.
