✨🩸DRAG DERBY FINALE 🩸✨

!! TW FOR FAKE BLOOD !!

beautiful photos once again by @jesserayphotography and beautiful lighting once again by @ziggy_zaya and @human.crush ♥️ who all did such a phenomenal job throughout this entire competition

i struggle to find the words to describe what this whole experience has meant to me. i never thought that i would be able to do what i am doing now with drag + burlesque, it truly blows my mind that i am fortunate to get to share my art with this community.

who i was could never have dreamt of being who i am ✨ all of the things that made me feel isolated while i was growing up in alberta are now the things that got me to 3rd place in drag derby ♥️ i cannot thank everyone enough for helping me make my dreams come true. not to mention all of the incredible people who i competed alongside- all of which were SO FUCKING GOOD and also SO FUCKING COOL AND NICE !! the community was a highlight in this experience.

thank you to all of my incredible friends who helped me through all of september,, i could not have done this without them. this week i decided to do a tommy wiseau act to the song "girls - the dare" ((based on our assigned songs for that week)) and i wanna give a special thank you to @jayasri.b @benannasplit @abbyjanej for coming to be apart of the very silly football scene that i wanted to bring to life. all of you absolutely nailed it and i thank you for taking time to memorize lines and show up to make it happen 🌟

i also brought a very dramaaaatic piece to the song "dream girl evil - florence and the machine" that felt very personally cathartic. it was basically a crash out over the double standards and fantastical projections that are forced onto femme people just for existing as femme people. i experienced so much growth in this competition. i learned so much about presence and performance and i feel so grateful.

AND CONGRATS TO OUR GLORIOUS WINNER @si.bongganisa !!!!!!!! you are a fantastic + creative artist and it was so inspiring to see what you came up with every single week 🌟🌟

massive thank you to @birdhouseartspace and @manupvancouver for having me. i am so looking forwards to my future in performing ✨
