If we were in the Winx Club universe: Abby would be studying prose and pun spells, Mild would be in enchanted fashion and textiles, Christina would be an ex-witch who just recently transferred into the fairy course, and I would be a silly little love fairy making the bestest of friends

Uh so, other than randomly posting, this is what I have been doing for the past 3 weeks.

I’m being low key because all these great opportunities came all of the sudden, so while I’m super grateful; I am also slightly overwhelmed. I have to thank @chonnajun_bambam for sending my portfolio to DDDT while texting with her, because 15 minutes later I’m in calls with people - And I was still on day 2 of quarantine.

After having some employment issues with Hasbro due to my student visa months prior( company policy changed), I simplified my plans and made seeing my family my goal. I have not seen them for almost 2 years due to covid and my Dad is still also recovering from his stroke. Little did I know that there’s a bunch of stuff waiting for me back home, maybe a little too much.

So uh, that’s about it. Also shoutout to @laineylines for adopting me prior to going back to Thailand.

Sooo you like digital art, do ya? You like it when that digital art is animated and moves around on the screen in the form of characters and scenery? And you like it when this digital art tells you an amazing story through the movement and is accompanied by voice acting? Well, say no more! We have just the thing for you, you sly dog!

Meet @abbysolutely_art Abby Fitzgerald, writer and director of the animated short "𝙎𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙞𝙣' 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙣". Ms. Fitzgerald is a character animator, a writer, a frequent pun-maker, and a recent graduate of Ringling College of Art + Design! Her art + animations are all about wit and whimsy, combining fantastical topics with intense, fast-paced cinematography and clever wordplay.
Ms. Fitzgerald says that "𝙎𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙞𝙣' 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙣" is the product of a year and a half of hard work, dedication, and cowboy-themed jokes that all came together to make one wild musical! In the story, a frustrated cowboy bursts into the Soothsayin’ Saloon, demanding to know who hung up his wanted poster and then brags about how he'll never be caught. With a smirk and a song, a coy soothsayer then launches into a bait-and-switch musical number. It's magic, mayhem, and mischief all in one rapid-fire round of western flair!
"𝙎𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙞𝙣' 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙣" recently won "Best of Ringling Annual Juried Student Exhibition" in Sarasota, FL!
"Animating is like running your own lil' stage play, but you're the playwright, lead role, and tech crew all in one! It's the best kind of challenge," - Abby Fitzgerald (writer, director, animator)
