Styling in the cozy, charming bridal suite at @owlshootbarn was an absolute dream. The intimate setting, the love-filled energy, and Abby’s closest people made this morning one we’ll cherish forever. Her bridal party was filled with so much warmth, joy, and laughter—it was truly something special.

"Everwhereness" was created within a day, but the concept has been brewing for years. (Trigger warning for potentially sensitive topics below). @methodgallery put out a call for a group show titled "Total F*cking Chaos," the theme being to submit ANYTHING. THAT DAY. And the show would only be up for a few days!! How exciting! I got the notice on the morning of NYE and was immediately inspired. I had materials ready that I had been sitting on for months, going back and forth on what form I wanted the piece to take... and then, when I got the call, the visual of this piece just came to me. The print and the light box piece are untitled as of now, but they were also created within weeks of this show, from direct print pinhole exposures and crushed eggshells. I love the tension, challenge, and beauty that this show put forward, and I am so grateful to have been a part of it with other incredible artists.

Everywhereness gives a voice to the feeling I've had watching everyone around me build their families while I grieve through two miscarriages and find my way through a fertility journey. It's the bittersweet feeling of being happy for others, while feeling like opportunities for your own fertility are dwindling. The piece is interactive. Inviting people to smash an eggshell represents a cycle passing. This means different things to everyone participating: some have little feelings at the passing of a cycle, while others grieve monthly. The hands reaching up signify the tension between desperation and hope, and also the yearning to participate in the lifestyle change that is parenthood. The photos are close-cropped to show the tiny details that can cause heartache and play into the role that social media has in the constant reminder of what was lost.
