This variation is one of the first thing I like showing new white belts.
Good way to understand the body mechanics and push-pull while playing your guard

One word to summarize it all KUZUSHI!

Sasae tsurikomi ashi ( or footsweep) to set up another footsweep.

Getting stuck in an armbar? Just stack.

Stop trying to rip your arm out ❌
Start putting your weight on them ✅

Save this for your next roll.

Send it to your training partner who keeps catching you 😅

Do you always find yourself getting smashed in outside ashi? Here’s a better option.

When your opponent drives into you to defend, most people try to hold the position

That’s exactly why you’re getting stuck.

➡️ Use their pressure. Let them come forward and spin underneath into cross ashi.

Now you’re not fighting for control you’re arriving in a stronger position.

Stop forcing outside ashi.
Let their reaction give you cross.
