A little Friday morning meeting required some breakfast and figured Another Broken Egg would be a prime space to connect.

Started my morning with good conversations and a delicious breakfast featuring a Cajun omelette with a side of grits.

Pretty solid breakfast option in town.

Huge thank you to @abecafe_ict for hosting our ERC crew this morning! What an incredible turnout and an even better way to spend a Saturday.

Good people. Good energy. Great food. New friendships. And another reminder that we’re all getting 1% better together—one run, one conversation, and one breakfast at a time. 💛

See you at the next one! 👟

Recently went to Sunday brunch at @abecafe_ict in Wichita, Kansas. It was PACKED. Luckily, I checked in ahead and got on the waitlist (do it online). So the one hour wait was done mostly from the comfort of my own home. That’s a good thing because I would have been really upset if I had sat and waited for an hour in the restaurant for one of the most “alright” brunches I have had in some time. Why?

First, it took more than 12-minutes of being seated before we heard a peep from any employee.

Second, I ordered the Cajun Shrimp & Crawfish Omelette and upgraded to the Loaded Bacon Gouda Grits for my side. Both had great flavor. But both were served lukewarm at best. Particularly the grits.

Third, I ordered a bowl of Gumbo soup with my entree. Soup came out 15-minutes AFTER my meal arrived. By the way, the Gumbo was outstanding.

And fourth, Gertie (my sort of girlfriend) ordered one of the burgers and country potatoes. But those potatoes were pretty damn burnt. Sorry, but they are. You can see the photo.

I chalk up most of my experience to it just being packed and everyone being busy. I get it. But I am also supposed to be honest, right? So, that was my experience. It was alright. And some of the food might have blown me away if it had been served hot. With that said, the Gumbo was incredible.
