Meet the 2025-26 ortho society board and congrats to the new members this year! ✨

Here’s some of the reasons why we chose ortho:

Farraz: As a teenager, I had severe crowding in my teeth. Getting ortho done and fixing my smile had such a big and lasting impact on me, and learning more about orthodontics in dental school just reinforced my decision. Physics and biomechanics were always a strength of mine in college, and orthodontics combines these subjects with dentistry and patient care, so for me, that’s a perfect combination.

Anna-Maria: I have always loved esthetic dentistry and learning how to incorporate biomechanics and orthodontic procedures to correct function and boost confidence. Orthodontics combines dentistry, treatment planning, and patient connection like no other specialty! :)

Shahd: I chose orthodontics because I love the blend of dentistry and technology, the complexity behind each smile, and the confidence it restores in patients. I’m so excited to serve on the board this year to continue growing and sharing this passion!

Annabelle: reason for choosing ortho = want people to smile more!

John: I think it’s amazing how much of an impact we can make on people’s appearance and self esteem.

Doreen: I really enjoy the treatment planning side of ortho and getting to follow patients through their care from start to finish!

Amanda: Besides loving my braces, I was drawn to orthodontics through my engineering foundation which deepened my appreciation for the biomechanics of tooth movement.

Rachel: I want to go into orthodontics because I love the idea of helping people feel confident in their smiles. It’s a perfect mix of planning, creativity, and getting to build relationships with patients over time. Seeing someone light up when they love their smile is something I want to be a part of.

Lauren: I love the ability to improve a patient’s confidence and self-esteem by aligning their smile, as well as creating a healthier, more functional bite!

Katelyn: I got into ortho after having a great experience with my own orthodontic treatment :)
