This isn’t a gym inside a physical therapy clinic, this is how performance based rehab is supposed to look.

Most “Sports Medicine” clinics look nothing like an environment for active people…no weights, no room to move.

At Movement Is Medicine Physical Therapy rehab doesn’t stop at the treatment table.

If you’re returning to running, lifting, CrossFit, or field sports, you need to train for it — not just stretch and use bands.

We bridge the gap between rehab and real life.

Not all physical therapy is the same.

We built MiM PT to give people in Hampton Roads the kind of care that actually makes a difference.

What that looks like:

✔️ 1-on-1 sessions with your physical therapist
✔️ Full hour-long appointments
✔️ A movement-first, performance-based approach
✔️ Attention to detail you won’t find in busy clinics
✔️ Care designed around your goals, not a generic template

If you’re serious about getting stronger, moving better, and staying active long-term—this is PT built for you.

Dr. Amanda is loving her new HOKA Mach 7s and was beyond excited to take home some incredible raffle prizes from Running Etc.’s 40th Anniversary Celebration. 🎉

Forty years in business is an amazing accomplishment and a true testament to the impact Running Etc. has had on the Hampton Roads running community. From supporting runners of all levels to creating a welcoming space for athletes and active individuals, they’ve been helping people move better for four decades.

We’re grateful to have such an awesome local partner and proud to support businesses that invest so much back into our community. Here’s to 40 years of success and many more miles ahead! 🏃‍♀️🎊

Too many people are being discharged from physical therapy the moment their pain decreases—not when they’re actually ready to return to the activities they love.

If your goal is running, golf, pickleball, CrossFit, soccer, or simply keeping up with your kids, being pain-free is only part of the process. Your body needs to be strong enough to handle the demands of your sport or hobby.

At Movement Is Medicine Physical Therapy & Performance, we often see patients who were never challenged enough in rehab to build the strength, power, endurance, and confidence needed for a successful return to activity. That’s why our Norfolk physical therapy team focuses on progressive loading and performance-based rehab, not just symptom relief.

Whether you’re an athlete or an active adult in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, or anywhere in Hampton Roads, our goal is to help you return stronger than before—not just “good enough.”

Don’t settle for being pain-free. Get back to doing what you love with confidence.

Not all physical therapy is created equal.

At Movement is Medicine PT & Performance, we believe true results come from dedicated 1-on-1 care — no bouncing between patients, no rushed appointments, and no cookie-cutter rehab plans.

When your physical therapist has the time to truly listen, assess movement, and build a plan around YOU, better outcomes happen. Whether you’re recovering from injury, dealing with chronic pain, or trying to get back to the activities you love, individualized treatment matters.

If you’re looking for personalized physical therapy in Norfolk or the Hampton Roads area, we’re here to help you move better, feel stronger, and get back to doing what you love.
