Spoon Gathering 2026

I don’t have much time to post. I’ve been flat out exhausted since I got back from eight days of camping and building the festival site with Ron and the gang.

Teaching in an outdoor classroom is always interesting. Every morning you set it all back up again and take it down at the end of the day.

I have so much to say about the gathering and people I want to highlight but here’s a little gallery. I’ll write something up on my blog or maybe I’ll just finally start that substack. I may lock myself in my room at North House Folk School in the evenings to keep this film editing and story typing machine going. It feels to be back!

Investing in new gear has been hard as hustling carvings and teaching took a bit of a back burner to finally start tending to having a real home life, and building a workshop. But I’m slowly getting the pieces together to be an on the go film studio, and to start writing a lot more.

Thanks to everyone who came to support the crafts, and eachother. It was one of the best ones we’ve had yet and the cherry on top was, that I gave a special retrospective keynote presentation of my life’s work saving the mighty kuksa.

I’ll have this online somewhere once I get time to add more information and finish my voice overs.

It’s been a real pleasure to be a part of the majority of spoon festivals, and I hope even more pop up! I want to see more places, raise our kuksas together, meet more carvers, and preserve these stories.

But now I have to frantically pack so I can leave early and help harvest a fresh birch for my classes that start this weekend.

Skål Y’all!
