Abhinandan Kaul was invited as a judge at NITIMANTHAN, the debate competition organised by the Amity Institute of Public Policy, Amity University Noida, in association with The Governance Guild.

The competition centred on the motion, “Can a Permanent Seat in the UNSC Strengthen India’s Global Influence and Strategic Autonomy?” It was an enriching experience to hear young debaters present their arguments on India's place in the evolving global order and engage with perspectives on international relations and strategic policy.

Congratulations to all the winners and participants for their thoughtful arguments and commendable performances. Grateful to the organisers for the invitation and for providing a platform that encourages critical thinking, informed debate, and meaningful youth engagement in public policy.

Haryana does not just play the game. It dominates it. 🏅🔥

The state that punches above its weight in India’s medal tally, sends its finest to the Army, and produces champions who make the tricolour fly high. 🇮🇳

Today, I attended Dandiya Night 2026 at Hansraj College, (DU), where I interacted with young people and engaged in meaningful conversations on art, culture, and issues shaping Gen-Z perspectives.

Amid the vibrant energy of Dandiya and the beauty of Indian culture, it was a wonderful experience to hear young voices, understand their aspirations, and explore their perspectives on the future of our nation.

Youth power, cultural heritage, and a vision for nation-building — that is the identity of New India! 🇮🇳

With the recent incidents raising serious concerns around women’s safety in Delhi and on DU campuses, I shared my views today on some practical measures that can make our campuses and public spaces safer.

Suggested measures included:
• Regular safety audits of different pockets and vulnerable spots
• Frequent police–administration–citizen meetings
• Panic buttons in dark, isolated and less-crowded areas
• Better lighting and surveillance at identified vulnerable spots
• Stronger education and sensitisation by families, schools and colleges to work towards a long-term change in mindsets among young people.

Women’s safety needs both immediate action and long-term change — safer spaces, stronger response mechanisms, and a sustained effort towards changing mindsets!
