When I was 7 years old, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. It was very scary for me and at times I felt all alone with no one to talk to. However, in 2017, I attended my first year of Camp Oasis and everything changed. Through Camp Oasis, I found a family of people who were dealing with the same problems that I was having. They accepted me and made me feel at home. Every summer I looked forward to camp and the new friends and memories that I would make. This year was my last year at camp as a camper, and while it pains me to leave, I will most definitely be back as a counselor to hopefully provide the same experience that I had to other kids with IBD. Thank you, Camp Oasis.
