Posted @withregram • @tutkijatpalestiinanpuolesta Olemme huolissamme Izabella Tabarovskylle annetusta kutsusta puhua Helsingin yliopistossa ja Åbo Akademissa ensi viikolla.

Tabarovsky on kiistänyt Israelin kansanmurhan Gazassa, kutsunut nälänhätää huijaukseksi [a "hoax”] ja luonnehtinut kansainvälisen tuomioistuimen oikeudenkäyntiä valheeksi ["bogus”].

🌟 Coming Soon: WP2 Participatory Action Research! 🌟

Ever wondered how digital media can build inclusion, participation, and peacebuilding? That’s exactly what WP2 is all about! 💡

What is WP2?
This work package uses Participatory Action Research (PAR) to explore the potential of digital media as a mediator for positive change. Why is it important?
💻 99.6% of respondents believe that if digital media adopted the role of a mediator, it would positively impact society.
🌍 We’re addressing critical areas where digital media can improve—peacebuilding, inclusion, and civic engagement.
👥 By involving diverse groups in this research, we ensure that all voices are heard, fostering real change for everyone.

What will it achieve?
📖 A comprehensive study with methodologies and recommendations to empower media to better serve communities.
🤝 Stronger relationships and collaborations with target groups, ensuring that the needs of society are truly reflected.

Get ready for transformative insights and actionable strategies! Follow us for updates as WP2 unfolds. 🚀

📣 Exciting news for PhD and Master’s students in biology, geography and geology:

✨ The next AURA Symposium takes place 19.-21.3.2025 in Turku - abstract submission open until 12.1.! ✨

The AURA (Aboa Universities Research Advances) Symposium is a biennially organized two-and-a-half day research and learning event for PhD and Master’s students from biology, geography and geology. The Symposium is organized jointly by PhD students from the University of Turku (UTU) and Åbo Akademi University (ÅAU). The symposium has been a traditional element in local meetings for about two decades. It offers students and researchers from different sections and departments a chance to come together, learn about each other’s research projects, and exchange ideas, encouraging further collaboration between the two universities and between the different fields of study.

The next AURA Symposium will take place on March 19th – 21st, 2025, at Arken Armfelt, Turku. The symposium will be split into four different thematic sessions, each being led off with a plenary talk given by one keynote speaker (60 min) and hosting oral presentations by PhD students. The symposium also includes poster presentations by both PhD and MSc students and a pre-symposium session for new doctoral researchers to present their research plan.

❗️ The abstract submission is open until January 12, 2025.❗️

The symposium will be preceded by a workshop on presentation and poster skills in mid-February. Registration for both the workshops and the symposium is now open on the AURA website.

Participation is cost-free and open to all students from Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD programs of biology, geography, and geology. Credits are available.

👉 For more information and registration, visit the Symposium website at https://sites.utu.fi/aura/
