I’m a thrifty b!tch who loves an Etsy small business moment and when I saw these, I knew that I would have put them into my cart online… so I obviously had to buy one IMMEDIATELY.

Am I going to journal in it? No. But I may junk journal or use it as a sketch book. Who knows? Maybe I’ll do it for two days and quit, because I’ve found a new hobby… which is very much me lately.

What do we think? When each book is the only one, it makes you want them… or is that just me?

Another cheerfull day H.T Gee
Publicer Methuen

Hello world!!!

To be honest I’ve always had a complicated relationship with social media. I was convinced it was evil and vowed never to make an Instagram post. I have stuck only to the meek and humble IG story for the past few years on my private account. But ultimately, as with all things, Instagram is just a tool and whether it is good or evil depends on how we wield it.

So, the tides have turned and I’ve found myself suddenly inspired to express myself more. With the encouragement of some really lovely and interesting friends, I’ve come to realise that I do have a lot of thoughts and ideas to share, so why not share them? Social media is just one of the ways I intend to do so.

While I have more time on my hands (funemployed), I thought that I’d follow the breadcrumbs and just do the next thing that excites me. I believe that doing so will lead me to somewhere good, even if I cannot see where that is yet. For now, this does, so I will make this post. 🪻

This is by far the prettiest About Blanks cover I’ve received from a “mystery” order. Happy 7th Birthday, Of Aspen! The pens you matched with this one are perfect!

So, In Cold Blood is a book that changed my life. And so yesterday I found this awesome sketchbook made from the hard concert of a 1980's Spanish printing by @aboutblanks at @goodpostage and had to have it. And the first drawing had to be something close to my heart.

I'm not a giant Capote afficionado or fan, but the writing of this book left me speechless as a wide eyed 16 year old. I remember reading this passage (part one and in the first 10-11 pages depending on printing) the first time and understanding the visual impact of the scene like I was actually seeing it. And from that point on the book revealed more and more that to this day, forty years later, I'm still able to remember.

"Just remember: If one bird carried every grain of sand, grain by grain, across the ocean, by the time he got them all on the other side, that would only be the beginning of eternity."

If you haven't read the book, you should. If you have, I would love to know if it touched your soul.

Also, support the makers and small stores out there. Products like this don't exist in a vacuum...they need places to be sold outside big boxes and online superstores. Shop local. Support artists. Make your dollars personal.
