🇪🇸⚽️ TEAM TRADITION | MALLORCA CATHEDRAL VISIT

Every season, we bring our International Soccer Academy players to experience the stunning La Seu Cathedral in Palma de Mallorca — a tradition we’ve proudly continued for the fourth consecutive year.

Beyond the training pitch, we believe in helping our players grow through shared experiences that build perspective, connection, and culture. Visiting this historic site reminds our teams that football is not just about what happens on the field — it’s also about the journey, the friendships, and the chance to see the world through the game.
From the first group that came to Mallorca in 2021 to our current Pro Pathway team, every visit has been a moment to reflect on how far they’ve come and how far they can go.

🌍 Authentic. Proven. Life-changing.

Development happens in the details.

With a 1-to-5 staff-to-player ratio, every athlete at International Soccer Academy gets the individual attention needed to truly grow — technically, tactically, and mentally.

Here, Performance Coach Francis Kioyo shares his insight during a goalkeeper session. A former Bundesliga striker with 1. FC Köln and 1860 Munich, and a Cameroon international, Francis brings invaluable experience from years competing at the highest level in Europe.

His coaching goes far beyond drills — it’s about understanding the game, building confidence, and preparing players to perform under pressure. Having leaders like Francis on the field ensures that every session reflects the standards of professional football. ⚽️💪

International Soccer Academy – Our Premier Pro team faced Bundesliga club FC Union Berlin U17 in their 3rd match of the season, ending in a 4-2 loss.

Despite the result, our talented North American players showed resilience and growth against top German competition. Since coming together on August 29, the team has been working hard in training to raise their performance levels and tactical understanding, preparing for increasingly challenging matches.

Head Coach Florian Matk says, "Overall, we were satisfied with the game. We started very well with high pressing and forced Union into mistakes during their build-up play, which consequently led to us scoring the 1:0 and creating further chances.

In general, we had very good phases of possession and reacted well with counter-pressing after losing the ball. We went into halftime as the better team, although it was 1:1, since we admittedly lost intensity in the last 10 minutes before the break. After halftime, we came out with fresh momentum, resumed high pressing, and took the lead again at 2:1. Unfortunately, we couldn't maintain the result, and we couldn't keep up our rhythm, which ultimately led to a deserved defeat.

Nevertheless, the team has developed well and deservedly scored two goals against a U17 Bundesliga team, holding their own for long stretches of the match."

Performance Coach Francis Kioyo says, "Very happy about the performance. It’s not just about the result against a very good Bundesliga team— it’s about how we played, how we grew together in just 5 weeks.

The boys follows the tactical instruction and are finally on a good physical level to start enjoying this game. Can‘t wait for more".

We are proud to continue developing players who have trained at some of the top youth academies in America, providing them with the platform to compete at the highest levels in Europe.

International Soccer Academy - 🧤 Goalkeeper Spotlight 🧤

Our Pro Pathway goalkeepers Josh Tipton and Alex Brown are now training under Holger Gehrke, a highly respected German goalkeeper coach.

Gehrke played over 200 matches in the Bundesliga with clubs like Schalke 04, MSV Duisburg, and SpVgg Blau-Weiß 1890 Berlin during his playing career.and before moving into coaching. He went on to serve as goalkeeper coach at Hertha BSC, 1. FC Köln, and Fenerbahçe, working with some of the top keepers in Europe. He has also served as the National Team Goalkeeper Coach of Hungary! Gehrke was also the Caretaker Manager at 1.FC Köln and the First Team assistant coach at Hertha BSC.

For Josh and Alex, this level of specialized goalkeeper training is a rare and invaluable opportunity. It’s not every day that American players get direct access to someone with Gehrke’s pedigree — and every session helps them sharpen the skills needed to succeed in European football.
