Who says you can’t have the best of both worlds? 🤍

With more of us working from home, having a dedicated workspace is a game-changer. But that doesn’t mean sacrificing the space to host family and friends!

By incorporating a stylish sofa bed, this room works effortlessly as a practical home office during the day and a cosy guest bedroom when needed. 🛋️💻

Thoughtful design, clever use of space and beautiful styling mean you don’t have to compromise on comfort, functionality or aesthetics.

Because great design isn’t just about how a space looks — it’s about how it works for the way you live.

The Edit: Sage Green ✨

It’s no wonder this colour is in demand by interior designers and homeowners alike. Sage Green is a muted shade which adds a calm, versatile and understated aesthetic which can transform a room, while providing a serene backdrop for art, furniture and accessories.

Here’s our editors top recommendations of art featuring sage green tones, as well as pieces that would complement sage green painted walls:

1. Colour Block 7 Limited Edition Art
2. Brushed Haze Framed Canvas Art
3. Untitled I Framed Canvas Art
4. Abstract Green Pastel Framed Canvas Art
5. A Stroll Down By The Lake Original Painting

@duluxuk also recently named Soulful Sage as it’s Colour Of The Year 2027. Read more on our blog.

FINALLY… the finished room!
It’s taken a little while to get here, but today I finally went back to photograph this Edwardian living room that I first designed back in 2024 and it was so lovely to see the original proposals brought to life.
The brief began with two separate rooms that were being knocked into one large living space. As well as planning how the new room would work as one cohesive space, I was asked to design the interior and, as is so often the case with my schemes, everything started with one piece.
This time it was the beautiful Ikat Clover wallpaper by Josephine Munsey. Its earthy red, ink and muted tones became the thread that ran through the whole design.
From there I introduced warm creams, clay reds, natural woods and woven textures, punctuated with strong black accents. I wanted an eclectic mix of styles and periods rather than everything matching, a room that felt considered and cohesive, but never predictable.
The finished room has stayed remarkably true to those original proposals, although, as every real home should, it has evolved along the way. My client has added some of her own finds and chosen pieces similar to those I’d originally suggested, which has allowed her own personality to creep into the scheme too.
I love the contrast between the bold wallpapered chimney breast and the calmer neutral backdrop, the original-style parquet flooring, bespoke cabinetry, shutters, black framed doors and the mixture of contemporary, traditional and more organic pieces. It’s warm, characterful and very much a home, rather than a room that feels overly designed.
Back in 2024 I finished my original post by saying “I cannot wait to photograph the room once it is complete.”
Well… it took a while, but today I finally did. ❤️
And apparently the cream sofas received the seal of approval too. When your dog matches the upholstery, dog hair becomes a design feature rather than a problem. 😂🐾
I still think I’d happily have this one in my own home. Thanks for the opportunity @samantha_morgan98

This dining room was designed as an extension of the kitchen, creating a cohesive flow between the two spaces while giving the dining area its own identity.

The process started with the foundations: olive-green wall panelling, warm walnut herringbone flooring and layered lighting to establish a rich, timeless base. From there, each element was carefully introduced — from the statement crystal chandelier and traditional wall lanterns to the abstract artwork, sculptural black console and oversized olive tree.

The dining table became the centrepiece: a cream veined marble oval top with a sculptural black base, paired with warm beige upholstered dining chairs for softness and contrast. A natural linen runner, cream tableware and subtle candlelight bring the table to life without overwhelming the space.

One of the biggest transformations was the addition of full-height beige curtains, creating softness around the doors, adding height and making the room feel more intimate and luxurious.

The overall palette was intentionally chosen to connect with the kitchen — olive green, walnut, creamy stone, warm beige and black accents — allowing both rooms to feel like part of the same home while still having their own atmosphere.

A balance of modern classic, timeless elegance and warmth — ✨

Every month, we curate a selection of pieces that have caught our eye. Not because they're trendy, but because they bring character, texture, and personality to a space.

This month's edit is inspired by the freshness of summer, combining soft greens, natural materials, playful patterns, and timeless forms. From statement artwork and sculptural lighting to charming textiles and beautifully crafted furniture, each piece has been chosen for its ability to elevate a room while remaining effortlessly livable.

Which piece would you bring home?
