Dualities, layer by layer 🎞️

On September 25, Fujifilm joined Lagos-based photographer and filmmaker Emmanuel Ikwuegbu (@iamemmages) at Related Motions Studios for Dualities, a hands-on workshop on in-camera double exposure portraiture.

Emmages walked participants through his approach to combining multiple exposures directly in camera, from choosing a strong base frame to placing the second layer with intention. Over the afternoon, the group explored how composition, movement, and timing shape a layered portrait, and how the technique can push an image somewhere between raw reality and imagination.

Thank you to Emmages, the Related Motions Studios team, @abujaphotofest, and everyone who joined us in Lagos for Dualities.

Stay tuned for more Fujifilm workshops across the region!

The Abuja Photo Festival is often described as an elegant, sophisticated, and immersive experience—and rightly so. Whether you’re a photographer, a creative, or simply a casual visitor, there’s truly something for everyone.

At this year’s 10th Abuja Photo Festival, taking place 27–30 October at the ICC, be sure to visit the Scenicomposition Vendor Stand and pick up a copy of NatureScape Abuja, a photography coffee-table book that explores the untamed natural beauty of the territory.

This festival changed my journey. I’m Ruth Ogbaje of @valyoo_photography and the @abujaphotofest is the reason I stopped being scared to start.
I found mentors, friends, and stories that sounded like mine.
Abuja Photo Festival did that for me.
