Lighting art is not just about seeing, it is about experiencing. ✨
Last Friday, together with the lecturers from Temasek Polytechnic, we had the pleasure of welcoming participants from SIA, SIDA, DPD Architects, and Parenthesis Studio for an immersive session exploring the value of lighting artworks the right way.
Through hands-on demonstrations, participants experienced how flexible lighting tools can reveal detail, shape perception, and enhance the visual impact of art.
The afternoon continued with visits to Sundaram Tagore Gallery and OTA Fine Arts Gallery at Gillman Barracks, before concluding at the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) with Hiroshi Sugimoto’s exhibition Form is Emptiness.
A big thank you to my colleagues Adena Ang, Amy Chiu, and Shu Gee Ng for their support and contribution to making this event a success.

🎓✨ A great evening of learning and inspiration at the ERCO Experience Centre Singapore!
We were delighted to welcome the participants of the Specialist Diploma in Lighting Design 2026 from Temasek Polytechnic to our ERCO AP headquarters at 93 Havelock Road.
As part of their one-year postgraduate programme, the students had the opportunity to explore the principles of architectural lighting, experience ERCO solutions firsthand, and discuss how light can shape architecture, spaces, and user experiences.
A special thank you to Yusuke Hattori for bringing the group to ERCO and for his continued commitment to lighting education.
At ERCO, we strongly believe in supporting the next generation of lighting professionals through knowledge sharing, hands-on learning, and continuous education. Pictures credits to Amy Chiu ! Thanks for the beautiful pictures!

✨ Two inspiring days of learning and discovery at ERCO Asia Pacific.
This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming 100 students from Singapore Polytechnic to our Singapore Experience Centre. On Monday, we hosted 2nd-year students, while Tuesday was dedicated to 3rd-year Interior Design students.
Our colleagues Amy Chiu and Nann Thiri Nwe guided the students through the fundamentals of light, ERCO's architectural lighting philosophy, and Richard Kelly's pioneering approach to lighting design.
Through presentations and hands-on experiences, the students explored the value of vertical illumination, the principles of architectural lighting, and the importance of selecting the right colour temperature and colour rendering index (CRI) to shape the perception of spaces.
We would like to thank the lecturers from Singapore Polytechnic for their trust and collaboration. We hope these sessions have inspired the students and provided them with a deeper understanding of how light can transform architecture and enhance the human experience.

Yesterday, Singapore Art Museum opened Hiroshi Sugimoto: Form Is Emptiness with an exclusive VIP preview.
Around 500 guests experienced the powerful work of Sugimoto, for the first time in Southeast Asia.
ERCO is proud to support the exhibition, creating the right luminous frame for his photography. With 4000K and CRI 92, the balance allows both black & white and colour works to reveal their full depth and brilliance.
Thank you SAM for the trust.
On view until 10 October—don’t miss it.
(Plus: from 12 June, SAM will be directly connected to the Circle Line 🚇)
