Learn to 👀visually read the streets: The Man with the Flower 🌺☀️◼️◽️Street-Photography: I don't just a capture a picture i look at how or what...⤵️ over the years i trained myself more in in this and i still learn every day student of life.
- How the light is
in-combination with the shadow parts.
- What is the senery like at that moment very bizzy or less more calm.
- What some-one is wearing .
- What he of she carries with them at that moment .
- How his or her mood is at that time that time. All these aspects can lead up to make a photo more intressting or maybe less so it's scanning (👀Looking), Compose, adjust (the camera settings if needed) & capture: The Man with the Flower☀️🌺) all these things happen often in a few seconds @academieminerva ✨ @worldofbeautifulvisuals ◽️◼️

Happy international artist day!

Meet Marios Michaelides, a 3rd year Fine Art student from @academieminerva 🖌️

We go to meet him and talk with him about his artistic interests and process, finding inspiration within life and culture, and what it’s really like to apply that within different artistic mediums ✨

Seriously incredible work. Make sure to follow his journey at @the.stupid.art.theory 🙌

Some pics from my inauguration as Professor Art & Sustainibility at the @hanzehogeschool … It was the most beautiful (and gezellig 🙃🥰) day. My team of researchers hosted a number of fantastic workshops and @rubydvs curated a beautiful exhibition. I have been floating on a cloud of gratitude 🙏🏼🥰💐 Many thanks to all who shared this special moment, in person @academieminerva or online.

‘iets eerders, tussen in’ (version 2)
in a new location

we got the honour, as a graduating fine arts year, to exhibit in @loods6 in amsterdam. a chance to see our work outside of groningen, and in a great location. a way to see my work interact more with the space around it and getting a lot more room to breath in comparison to last time. also now double sided and to be viewed in even more ways.
a short time of setting up and an even shorter opening but very, very fun.
thanks minerva for organizing and getting us out there. :’)

Did you know there’s a volcano hiding underneath the Wadden Sea? 🌋

Her name is the Súdwâlfulkaan, and her home lies a couple of kilometres below the seabed, not too far from where Tsjisse and Debora were born and raised. Together, they’ve been bringing this underground giant to the surface. No shovels were involved, just lots of yarn!

They’ve been working together on a series of woven tapestries inspired by this mysterious underground world, translating their ideas and illustrations into woven textiles, partly made from recycled yarns from Groningen. @reblend_project

And now they finally get to show them!

Their tapestries are part of DreamWeave, an exhibition exploring how discarded textiles can find new life through art, design and weaving.

Come have a look!

🌋 October 29–30
Koepelzaal Minerva, Praediniussingel, Groningen Free entrance, everyone welcome!

A big thank you to @marleenannema for this beautiful picture of them, to @eeexclusives for their guidance with the textile weaving (special shoutout to Carolina! ❤️), to @carolijnslottje for inviting them to take part in this project, to @augmentedweaving for the teaching, and to all the other epic participants.

What a week to be in Groningen 👀

🎬 Tuesday: A dystopian silent film about a city that lost its voices and a man who controls everything they see and hear.

🎨 Thursday: The Minerva Market is taking over the Zuiderdiep building. 40+ student artists, live music in the evening and probably something you will want to take home.

👗 Friday: Usva’s O-Swap is the sustainable wardrobe refresh you have been putting off. Drop off what you do not wear, pick up something you will love.

🎃 Saturday: MISFIT is back at FIXY for their monthly queer night and this time it is Halloween themed. You know what that means. Bring the outfit.

🎸 Sunday: Money & The Man hit EM2 with a rock ‘n roll show that does not hold back. Heavy riffs, big energy and a support act worth showing up early for.

Which one has your name on it? 👇

𝐆𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐢𝐣 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚… 👀
